Hi there,

Copied and pasted this from the thread about dual sim's as I thought it may be useful to some people.

O2 has just released an app called "tu go" for its pay monthly customers which essentially means you can use two to five devices with the same phone number so long as you have a data connection. It even allows you to turn your PC/Tablets into a phone (its only available on IOS, Android and windows PC atm, but they are eventually going to release versions for windows phone and blackberry).

You just download it onto your device and it allows you to use your Contract minutes and texts and works exactly as if you were making a call or text from the primary device. It even shows up with your phone number at the receiving end (the receiving end does not have to have the app installed unlike skype whatsapp etc). Also if someone calls/texts you all the devices tied to the account will light up at the same time and you can answer any one of them so you dont have to set a preferential one or anything.

Gizmodo actually did a review of it today which goes more in depth so have yourself a read

And heres the links to download.

Android:

Hope this helps.

The links you pasted to the apps don't work :(.

Want to give this a go, looks interesting. But says I'm not registered... but the Sign Up button is greyed out...

There we go, links should be fixed now.

Have you downloaded the app already? Are you an O2 consumer pay monthly customer?

I literally just downloaded the app. Put my phone number in, it sent a verification code to my phone which I put in and hey presto it worked. :)

Nevermind, got it to work now, it was greyed out so I thought the sign up button wouldn't work... but it does :p.

'n a nutshell, it’s moving one giant step closer to making phone calls and texts just another app or service that you have on your device, which is the way it should be'

Eugh no! A phone should primarily be a phone, not an app platform! It's the main reason I am sticking by Blackberry; and even that might have gone with the loss of a physical call button in BB10 :(

This service is however perfect for someone who would happily have two devices, one for communication and one for apps and the like, so I do like it in that respect. Plus texting on the PC has always been fabulous.

Yup, calling I'll still use the phone, but texting will be a lot easier on the PC/tablet.

Interface looks horrible though but can't complain really :p.

One of the great things about it is if you struggle to get a good signal in your house. Download this app, connect it to your wifi and alas no more problems with calls or texts. Same goes for any blackout zones or if a mast goes down in your area. So long as you have an internet connection of some form you should never be without a means of communication again.

I hope T-Mobile bring out something like this, it seems like an absolutely brilliant idea. My Note II is currently away with Samsung for repairs, if I had something like this I wouldn't need a spare phone as I know all my calls/texts would still be coming through on my Nexus 7.

If your phone battery dies, you are less likely to ever miss a call or text. I'm shocked that O2 actually came up with this. :p

This is brilliant! After some teething problems I've been using it all day. This will be fantastic on my work device so I won't have to carry two phones around and still pick up all my personal messages.

Bizarre reasoning there, im glad that BB have got rid those physical call buttons...one less part to break down;) and on my 9900 both call and end call buttons squeak which is annoying. But ive replaced it with the z10 and its absolutely brilliant when making calls, call quality is out of this world...its clear and concise even in noisy environments.
