some people can't seem to grasp that (not saying that any of you are like that)
having just spoken to a new client whos wondering why their 2nd hand sub £200 laptop (that I told em NOT TO BUY) doesn't have:
a) wireless
b) floppy drive
c) working CD Rom
and
d) working battery

Got my oakleys metal case free when vision express screwed up my prescription glasees. Paid £150 for photochomic lenses to be done that day , but when they did them they were extremely thick instead of the ultra thin i asked for.

The guy who made them apologised sincerely and just handed me the case :D

Fantastic case compared to standard glasses cases that lose the alignment because of the bad quality hinge. This case is as solid as a rock, plus whn you close it, it makes a satisfying snap !

£350  nice glasses though

I have been looking for some new ones myself but can't afford anywhere near that much :(

Which ones look better? http://www.specsavers.co.uk/cgi-bin...r&range=designer&price=&page=1&prodid=1002162 or http://www.specsavers.co.uk/cgi-bin...&range=designer&price=&page=11&prodid=1002342

Hmmmm...hard choice, they are both quite generic. Is that waht you want? My last pair was CK but no one can tell, and you can't unless you can read the tiny writing on the side. I prefer ear piece on the OSIRIS but the fonr end of the Quicksilver.

Mine actually was £200 for the frame and £240 for the lenses (thinnest ones you can get.) Thou it still look quite thick, going to go back to double check with them that it is the right lens i paid for.

It is what I can afford :p and they are the kinda shape that suits me.

I like all of these though:

http://oakley.com/o/o3151d
http://oakley.com/o/o1201d
http://oakley.com/o/o2206d (in black chrome)

for me its between the Spoke and the straight line, you really need to try them on to see if they suit you. Last time i tried rimless i thought they make me look 10 years older, but these oakleys suits me a lot better. Have you apply for those H2 something forms? you might get a discount. And Optical Express does 25% student discount, thou i dunno if they sell Oakleys.

How much are you prepare to pay for glasses?

I may be wrong but I think I spent 300 odd on my current glasses, which are Storms with ubar thin lenses, anti glare/scratch/bird flu etc. Sounds like a lot but when you consider that I wear the damn things 16 hours a day for two years, its probably worth it.

Sunglasses wise I'd reckon at most the same price, though I'm not sure its worth it for just the summer. Saying that I was out in London in the sunshine today and while they do the job, my current Specsavers own brand ones felt uncomfortable, heavy and wonky.

well, what do you know, they've put the wrong lens in mine too !!!

I paid £110 extra for the thinnest lens and i got the next one down from it. Not impressed but at least they are going to order my the X Metal Vault for me for free.

It's finally done now and got a X-metal vault :)
