Not surprised look at the amount/variations of junk food you can buy in shops, chocolate , fizzy drinks. Thats before mentioning the likes of deliveroo, just eat ect. Not good..

Those who are clinically obese should be prevented from buying unhealthy food, i.e. blocked somehow at point of sale. It is too easy for them to over eat and make wrong decisions.

I've been going through a thing this past year, The neighbour hasn't seen me much in this time, one day I met her in the local corner shop, she asked how I was, I replied
I', fine, I've changed a lot huh? she comes back with " I'll say! Someones been eating all the pies! "

Should they? A higher tax, on fast food or something but a ban - no.

This is such a lazy approach, it's no wonder the country is in the state it is if this is what people think is the answer.

No. The NHS should and is available for those that need it, despite the cause. I think you are showing how selfish and ignorant you are.

Not in my opinion, no-one chooses to get ill and need the NHS, however preventable diseases / illnesses that are self inflicted because people need to eat 12 bags of crisps a day is the only selfish thing I see. Imagine how much better the service could be if obese people lived a healthy life or contributed extra. Think about that the next time you need the NHS and you're in a 4 hour queue just to be seen, or on year+ long waiting lists.

The NHS should be there for the medical treatment of those who are unable to help themselves. I would extend that to easily preventable conditions such as obesity.

I thought 'main cause' was going to say

"Eating too much and little or no exercise"

Similar to type 2 diabetes. I call it "clotted cream cakes and no exercise diabetes" which my grandma had years ago. Magically when the doctor said she would die in a few years if she continued as she were, she went for a walk everyday and stopped eating loads of sugar, cream and whatever else. She's now much better. Go figure
