Obesity...

Not in my opinion, no-one chooses to get ill and need the NHS, however preventable diseases / illnesses that are self inflicted because people need to eat 12 bags of crisps a day is the only selfish thing I see. Imagine how much better the service could be if obese people lived a healthy life or contributed extra. Think about that the next time you need the NHS and you're in a 4 hour queue just to be seen, or on year+ long waiting lists.

So everyone who turns to the NHS for treatment of a "self-inflicted" illness or injury should pay more?

Easy go-to excuse for too many that don't actually have it. Same as the classic 'back pain' or 'menzies'.
Depression runs on my mums side of the family and not a single one of them is fat, nevermind obese.

depends on the individual situation can't tar everyone with the same brush and can't go from your personal experiences can you? A close family would help a lot but when you don't have that?

I haven't tarred everyone but many do use it as an excuse when that's not the case. When you don't have close family it doesn't automatically mean you need to eat too much/move too little.

It costs more to be healthy these days, when if you can't afford it? and the cheaper unhealthy option is the best yo can offer the family? I don't mean take aways every night...you know what I mean.

Stop and think through why I've said before and instant first response in your head ;) If you are in a funk and getting no support from anyone it spirals.

Ok then the lack of life experience in here I get it lol, once you start socialising with different groups old and young you'll get to realise an larger world view of the human condition.

If it's preventable.... i.e shoving food down you 24/7 then yes of course. A darwin stupidity tax would also be excellent for silly self inflicted injuries, but obviously in general accidents can happen and that is fine.

Why don't you make a big list of all the ailments that don't affect you and then campaign to have the sufferers of those ailments contribute more, then that way you'll be able to waltz up to the front of the queue whenever you need assistance.

The modern day answer to all societies problems.

Yeah I get you and I agree with Katie Hopkins if the big fat debate too lol. Just most of the time it isn't as simple to just tell people to eat less junk and exercise. and i'm done.

I'm not trying to justify my opinion to you, i'm only telling you it.

Smokers? Alcohol drinkers? Drug users?

As mentioned, depression can play a part in overeating... it's not always a simple case of just eating because you're greedy, just like some alcoholics have deeper issues and not just that they are thirsty.
