Observational phone ownership

I have never really had an interest in IPhones because I have been happy with the android phones I use but I would use one if the prices of late were not so high.
I find most people in South East London / Kent have Iphones or Samsung's.

I think for my next phone I will be going mid range android rather than higher end and reduce my costs a little bit as I only play a few games and don't feel the need for the best photo taking phone. (Wife is better at taking photos anyways lol)

I only see two types of 'new' phones.

iPhones, in gold being banded around like a fashion accessory - because it's the 'best' phone.
Everyone else I've seen with a new phone has a Huawei.

Most iphone's I see are 6/7/8 (can you tell the difference?) - with a cracked screen.

Why would you hate Apple?

Constant claiming they invented everything for a start, but mostly, the users.

I'm not a fan of their simplified phones, their OS's or their overpriced equipment and yes, I've had to use and support them.

Yes, Android has some crazy people too but compared to Apple it's like day and night, the bloke sat next to me at work is a prime example. 40 minutes listening to how he can stream from his iPhone X to all the Apple TV systems in his house and how you do it. Wasn't impressed when I said, "That seems long winded, on android you just click share and pick the tv.

I'd imagine if I spent a lot of time in a design industry my opinion would be different.

Why would you hate Apple for the users? Apple have no control over its users. It’s like saying you hate google because of the crazy android users.

Why wouldn't you? If you have something shoved in your face enough, you begin to hate it. Are you an Apple user? You seem rather put out by my opinion despite it having no effect on you ;)

No I’m just making the point that you must equally hate google, unless you’re a hypocrite

Pretty sure the problem is fanbois, of which Apple seem to over-index.

The key word here is 'seem', stuff like this is always subjective.

Are you sure? I see far more android ‘fanboys’ in comment sections (which makes sense given there’s more of them).

Seem, and personally I am referring to out in real life, not online comments.

I’ve never met anyone I’d call a fanboy in real life, they seem to inhabit the online world only. Anyway, the point still stands. If you hate companies on the basis that there are fanboys, you pretty much have to hate every company else be a hypocrite.

Any kind of fanboy is a pretty sad individual really. Who cares. I'm not on about those loyal to a particular brand, a lot of users stick with it because it's what they know or they've invested too much time and money into an ecosystem to switch, I don't have a problem with that.

It's when you get silly, petty arguments on forums that makes the user look pretty sad. Pretty much all systems have their strengths and weaknesses.

It's always been thus though for as long as I can remember. Atari v Amiga, PlayStation v Xbox, windows v Mac, blah blah blah...

All of this.. you hate a company that hasn't done something overtly evil (like... ok.. hate exxon or nestle etc.. I get that) you're losing your grip.

Companies win and lose, make good and bad products and spin/market them. No need for emotion, life's too short (and I make a living out of it!)

I think you're wrong. You only have to look at the setup of this very forum where Apple fans feel the need to be in their own walled garden away from the nasty people who buy other devices.

Wasn’t that because of the android fanboys causing problems?
