Octavia VRs

There are two Mk I's for sale on Briskoda.net at the moment - a black one with 300bhp and a red one with 325bhp, both are under £4K and have been very well looked after.

There is also a Race Blue 06 Reg MkII vRS hatchback for £6750, but he needs to sell, so I reckon it'd be your for £6K and an 07 Reg vRS Estate for £7750. Both are 200 TFSI's and both are well known member's cars ie. they've been well looked after.

And there is also a truly mad 05 Reg 250bhp diesel Fabia vRS for £5500.

Ahh OK. I don't mind using Optimax still then. It will still be cheaper on petrol. ethos, do you have a 406 Mi16 or 205?

205, there's a thread with the conversion on here if you're interested :)

I've had my vRS for over two years now and always run it on V-Power, she lurves it. Good cars, you'll enjoy it

Do you have a V-Power card aswell then? I do and I can safely say that I never use my vouchers that come through lol. I am just too lazy or forgetful to use them! £6 off every few months, what's the point lol.

I did think about it but the benefits seem pretty low so didn't bother :o

Good choice of colour! You will last 2 weeks max before you remap it :D

I've lasted 20 months so far ;)

Enfield- I ran mine on 95 for the first 6 months that I owned it and it was fine, they are better on 98 though. They run at around 170bhp on 95 if the reports are to be believed. Also you mention a nice noise when coming off the throttle, is it running a different filter or CAI or has the recirc valve been replaced with something different?

I want a nice noise on lift-off!

I've lasted 23 months without a remap heheh :p Although I do think about it quite a bit still. Sir Robs, I've never read a figure for 95 RON output, interesting. I put 95 in the last couple of times and I'm sure it doesn't feel quite so urgent. I can never get to V-Power though so am on whatever BP do.

My drop in panel filter makes the standard recirc valve quite noticable. Also gives a nice tone to the engine at 2.5 to 3.5k under heavy throttle.

Yeah that figure was one I got off a briskoda thread but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'm also not sure if its just peak power that is effected (which wouldn't mean much) or if it has an effect all the way through the revs?

Remap is constantly at the back of my mind but so is my cheap insurance quote ;) The car needs a few bits tidying up before I'm happy with it- new badges front, back and on wheels, new outer grille and possibly a wheel refurb. After that I might see if I fancy a bit more poke :p

I noticed it straight away and asked if it had a dump valve fitted to which the guy said no. Apparently they all sound like that... it's not particularly loud but it's noticeable to me. I'm not sure that anyone outside of the car would hear it...

No idea about what has been done to it but Skoda will be checking it over thoroughly before I pick it up.

I got me a different air filter too. Maybe I've just got used to it. Actually I should check it's still there after a service or two... oh.
