I see that Microsoft have pulled the recent update due to claims of deleting files. I installed it yesterday (Love the dark explorer UI!) and everything seems to be all good here. Anyone else having issues with it?

I'll hold off installing to our second machine that runs media server etc.

It works for a lot of people but there are some who are having issues related to OneDrive resulting in missing files and then some Intel devices (some of it audio related) aren't working proper with the update. Also increasing number of people finding issues related to sleep functionality - personally I don't use sleep on my desktop so wouldn't even notice if there was a problem there but it can also affect tablets and laptops where people are much more likely to be using sleep modes.

I upgraded two laptops with a fresh install and I noticed that a couple of files disappeared from the Downloads folder after I had installed them, I thought I was going mad until I saw that MS had pulled it for a similar reason. I've seen stories of people losing 200GB+ worth of files from their Documents folder after upgrading. I suggest anyone who has upgraded to backup their files asap as a precaution.

I wonder if they will pull the coming feature that automatically identified files least used and moved them to OneDrive to free space on the PC LOL - you'd think stuff for that would be off by default... but nope.

I wasn't on 1809 for very long, but this Reddit user posted about a bug that i had encountered with Chrome too:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/9lz4h1/chrome_windows_grows_when_fullscreening_videos/

I'm using v68 but had the same issue on 1809. I always have my Chrome window 'snapped' to the corner, and after exiting fullscreen video the window would grow, off the edge of the display! Anybody else seeing this on 1809?

I am on 1809, opened Chrome and checked it used latest Chrome build 69.0.3497.100 is exactly the same build which Alex experienced issue but I seemed don't have issue after watched some youtube videos from window to full screen and exited full screen.

Do you use AMD GPU? Maybe AMD graphics driver is the issue.

Nvidia 980GTX. 1809 did it's thing in updating the Driver during install. Just another one of those bugs that's made me happy to be back on 1803. Glad it's not affecting everyone though. Thanks for checking.

I like the way MS and journos are saying it wasn't on mass release. But excuse me if I go to update windows through windows update and it downloads and installs it then it is in mass release.

I wonder how MS manage to stay in business sometimes. Thankfully my OS is on its own partition, thank god for old skool.

It looks like the only system that has been updated did get affected by the "file deletion" bug (although I'm guessing that I should have checked the windows.old folder before I took to the disk cleanup utility as they might have been moved there) as files for crystal disk info and crystal disk mark went missing so I had to extract everything from the compressed archives to get them working again (although I have to download the latest version of crystal disk mark since microsoft managed to break the version that I have on that system).

Files are disappearing from the My Documents etc folders they're stored in the User folder not the Windows folder, like I said I did clean installs and a couple of installers vanished from the Downloads folder.

You wouldn't have found them in windows.old. They vanish into the ether.

The other bug that is being addressed is the Task Manager bug of reporting the wrong CPU usage. It's been acknowledged by MS.

I didn't check but is the Peek bug fixed in 1809? (Shadows/Outlines in misaligned places on Desktop)

Glad they've pulled it if its doing that. Only machine of mine that I've updated is a media player system, so not critical, but if files had just gone walkies for no reasons on this machine it could have been much more problematic!
