There aren't any other links back to the store home page as far as i'm aware so it's very handy to have

Or I'm guessing most people finish reading at the bottom of the page and then just use the drop-down menu to get where you want to?

Edit: TBH, the forum isn't that expensive to run, its the bandwidth that takes the ****. vB is quite cheap compared to its rivals.

i think i know what the OP is saying, on most forums the banner takes you to the forum home page,
but then most forums dont have their own shop and run a business, the only reason this wonderful forum is here is because of the shop,
seems perfectly logical to me
