From various dictionaries for Lug:

4. dialect ( Scot ), ( Northern English ) another word for ear

You would appear to be correct on the Palm N.A. though, googling it Palm is the brewery name and the name of the beer is N.A. because it's Non Alcoholic. ?(http://www.deliciousdrinksshop.co.uk/nonalcoholicbeers/nonalcoholicdarkbeers/palm-na.html)

If you read the details the beer is palm from "palm brewery nv” that owns local Belgium style beers. Yep it's low alcohol version of palm

Edit : think busch & anheuser busch as the brewery

Much like Brains (S.A. Brain & Company Ltd) however as per Brains, the beer name is not actually Palm. That's the short version of the brewery name which was clarified as not allowed by DJ.

So for Brains beers:

Brains Dark (Dark should be taken as the name of the beer)
Brains IPA etc etc

Look at Palm beers:

Palm Speciale
Dobbel Palm
Palm Royale

It's the same idea, so either Brains is allowed in the same vein as your entry or neither is valid. Either way it's not just up to me so I propose a competitor vote, either both yours and K C Leblancs entries are valid or both are invalid.

Btw not trying to pick on you Squid but as it's the same as K C Leblancs situation it's not fair you getting points and him not as it is currently.

Hey guys - just in from work and am pleased with another four points in this weeks entry. Also good to see many others receiving top scores as well - shame about Ahleckz but I'm sure he'll not make that mistake again and it gives everyone else a chance to catch up with him :p

I was expecting a little controversy re my entry but I can assure you it's in the dictionary thanks to the others who clarified (translated ;)) my entry as well. :D

I had a bottle of "Built a Rocket Boys by Elbow" (it was quite nice)

Had a bottle of that just the other week - agree it's a lovely tasting beer :)

// Edit - JFro Skull Spllitter was my second choice, glad I didn't opt for that now

Also that Cuttthroat Porter looks excellent. Where was it from?

That was from the excellent and one I'm not naming (it's mine, all mine!) beer shop in Glasgow.

It's brewed by Odell Brewing Co in Fort Collins, Colorado so one you'll probably only find in specialist shops.

I'm going to side with DJ on this one, SA Gold is the name of the specific beer, if it had just been Brains SA or most of the other Brains lines I would agree as Brains does make up part of the name in most of them.

Edit:

Actually very few of them.

Yes from that
Brains original stout
Brains black
Brains bitter
Should be allowed as its clear they are part of the naming of the beer.
And as this list shows
http://palm.be/en/vergelijken.php

On some beers palm is in the name including mine.

Can we look into this ?
