seabiscuits.... should 'west Yorkshire moors railway' have been included?

Well obviously I think yes. :D
Not like I'm going to win now, so it's academic anyway. But you had said after the beer type it would be not more words describing the beer, but West Yorkshire moors railway is the name of whats it's tha anniversary of.

Quite correct mate :)

Updated:

Seabiscuit - 40th Anniversary Ale West Yorkshire Moors Railway = 71pts 7+4 Gets 11 points

"Ahleckz - The London Brewers Alliance Collaboration London..... = 59 points"

Apologies mate! I see what you mean now :)

By adding the 'The' along with Stout which Ahleckz didn't have gives a combined score... 64

Since your link clearly states it as being known as, I don't see a problem. If anyone else does.... please shout out :)

Updated:

Mike306 - The London Brewers Alliance Collaboration London Stout = 64pts 6+4 Gets 10 points

EDIT

Scrub that! It's still wrong.

According to that site/link it's known as: 'London Brewers Alliance Collaborative Stout 2012' which is worth 54pts

I'm going by what's on the bottle label which was my original choice: London Brewers Alliance Collaboration London Stout which is worth 58pts

Do I not get Pale Ale in the name of my beer to push it over to 61??

Also NICEST BEER EVER :)

And well done to everyone for this fun round!
So that would mean....
What was allowed the last time, beer name only no beer type nor brewery name unless it formed part of the actual beer name itself ie. Budweiser. Keep in mind that was then and this is now...

Beer name and type ie Stout, lager, ale etc. If it is very descriptive the beer type will be the cutoff point for scoring. This make sense, and everyone happy?

Example: 'Brown's heavy dark ale with creamy undertones.'

It would be scored on 'Brown's heavy dark ale'

Everyone happy.... shout out now and agree before Saturday!

...um no points? :p

Actually, if you look at all the pictures I sent you, it North Yorkshire. Just so no-one tries to call me out on that.
I sent three photo's (I can upload to dropbox or imgur if anyone partcularly wants proof) because the name curled around the label.

I'll update it ...again. :o

Edit:

Seabiscuit - 40th Anniversary Ale North Yorkshire Moors Railway = 72pts 7+4 Gets 11 points

Not sure why Pingwing and Silent have the scores they have. Based on the rule of it being the name up to and including "beer type", Pingwing then only has Pale Ale, so a Scrabble score of 9. Silent has bottle conditioned flagship strong zesty full handcrafted in the cotswold hills since, so a Scrabble score of 129. I'd also think based on how some others have been counted that PapaLazzaru should have three more words counted from the middle of the label.

pingwing with 9 would mean 0+4 Gets 4 points based on pale ale. Should clarify, they do other 'pale ales' hence the name that was taken.

silent - his beer starts with Bottle conditioned flagship then you have the alcohol info size etc before any other details. Hence I cut it off where I did, sound right, no?

PapaLazaru - scored as entered by himself, I thought he was correct. All info taken from one section.

This round has seemed a little unclear of the ruling regarding points.

It was always going to be this way, but then once again nobody ever decided to contribute with suggestions, ideas or even a nudge in the right direction.

Once again, this highlights the need for 'everyone' to take the time to ask questions, give their input and generally iron out as many issues before the competition starts.

Folks, I'm not saying for one single second this round has been scored correctly. I've made an attempt at it, if you don't agree then please shout out...

...but give an explanation why. Sooner this is resolved the quicker we can move on and drop this round forever!

seabiscuit you're not making things difficult mate. I did that the second I decided to include this round! :D

All I want is for everyone to be reasonably happy with this rounds outcome, yeah I know!

My take for what it is worth... Everything should be on the label to be considered, the beer type is included this round but is the cut off point for the beer name. Obviously we are looking at beer names here.

Seabiscuit I believe is the victim of poor label design. On the Cropton brewery website it is referred to as NYMR 25th Anniversary Ale. Which makes actual grammatical sense? So it would be "North Yorkshire Moors Railway 25th Anniversary Ale"?

I'm not convinced of "Naturally Cloudy" being part of the beer name for Sonea_Fifer's entry.

Flagship is the name of silents entry?

Marvt74's entry I would've though would cut off at Edition?

Just my views, I have no vested interest being way down the order! :)

Cheers mate, much appreciated :)

Anyone else?
