OcUK Case Range - your comments please

OCUK should buy up all the old beige cases and market them as a blank canvas for case modding art. Cases that are just waiting to have side windows cut out and 120mm holes cut into the front/rear/top, why not sell a range of quality spray paints and even case modding tools. All you need to make your case an expression of your personality. Why buy a case that doesnt meet your cooling needs when you can make it just as you need.
The days of 'black art' OCing maybe long gone with auto overclocking software and pre-clocked gfx cards (gone are to days of bios flashing 9800pro's and multi unlocking xp 1600).
OCUK Vanilla cases, express yourself, be all you can be.
*If this takes off then i want 25% of all profits :D

Its a very good range i think, the OcUK value cases are good for people looking for a reasonable cheap case.

I do agree that modified cases are starting to show up more now, and it would be nice to be able to buy anodized/modded cases off the shelf, a blue anodized Lian Li would get me itching to pull my card out.

Also, as said the idea of a bundle pack with fans and a controller sounds like a good idea, whether it would work or not is something im not 100% sure of.

Did realise the OcUK gaming case had disappeared, the one with all the holes in the side. Seemed like a good buy for a beginner/itermediate(sp?) user.

One case i would like to see is the Silverstone LC13, they seem to be very difficult to come by, dont know whether there is a reason for that though.

[EDIT]And what's with the naim sig piccy? Linn is where it's at - always has been and always will be. Phone up and ask Ivor to take you for a run up the Clyde in his Skorpion![/EDIT]

DIY SET triodes, single driver full range speakers......

I don't deny their stuff is 1st class - I just think Linn is better. And AFAIK they don't do naim boats ;)

One thing no-one has mentioned yet is that you seem very slow to get the new cases in to stock. I bought a Silverstone TJ-08 from elsewhere because they had them MONTHS ago. I'll wait a couple of weeks for you guys to get one in, but it was almost 3 months and even then, you are £11 more expensive.

I bought a Lian Li V600B from a competitor on Friday because I need one now and calling OcUK just gets 'we don't know when we might have one'. So we end up buying elsewhere.

Sorry to come over all negative, but I travel up and down the M6 past J15 all the time and generally your pricing is among, if not THE, best so why would I want to buy anywhere else?

I do understand that it must be horrifically expensive to stock windows and parts for cases that you'll maybe only ever sell 5 or 6 of though. I know of at least one of your competitors that claims to have stock, but actually calls it off from their suppliers at 8 hours notice which still allows them to direct despatch for next day delivery. That's great for mail-order, but their in-store service is not very good at all!

Generally, OcUK is the #1 computer store in the UK at the moment, it doesn't need a big overhaul - just a couple of tweaks maybe?

Oh, and while I've got your attention - PLEASE get the b-grade and clearance sections properly integrated into the main stock/ordering system as it's such a pain to be told in-store that it's sold then order it from the laptop in *** car and pay £8 to have it delivered to the office the next day!

Thanks.

Thanks for the input. We will be addressing these issues shortly.

Linn used to be where it's at, but now I fear they have lost their way. Still run a pair of Linn Espeks though.

The range of cases is ok but lacking accessories for them. The price range is fine I think. Maybe more selective cases and definatly more accessories for case custimization.

The Antec Super Lanboy is priced at an amazing price. The best £35 ive spent for a long while :)

Yes - I suspect I'll end up getting one and let it sit in the corner until I need it for a project. Trouble is, not too many people want their SAP Business 1 servers with transparent panels. They just have no sense of adventure!

Be a pioneer and force it upon them. :p

All this talk of expensive Hifi makes mine run and cry. :( Never even had the pleasure of hearing anything on that side of a cheap seps system yet.

The case reviews would be a good idea, although the danger is it would turn into a competitors version where there worst case is rated 8/10 and it has absolutely no relation to how good the product is, and you do not really want to rate your product low.

A good variation on that would be a small paragraph under each case on what an ideal system would be for it, would be very useful as I certainly did not know where to start when I first got into PC's. I could help with that if you don't have anyone with the time to write them as it would save me writing it all on MSN every few hours. :p

I dont think the website should be changed at all, i think OCUK has THE best website out of all the other etailers. I think adding reviews etc might mess that up. Maybe having case reviews in a sticky in the CC forum and then linking that from the OCUK case section would be a good idea.

Another vote here for the accessories. The only other thing is the 'full specification' links need updating as a lot dont work.

I definitely agree. It loads fast and it works well - even on an Orange M5000!

Very true.

It's hard enough getting them to take SAP! All my customers are poultry processors or feedmills and usually the budget is split 98% on the software and 2% buying the IT Manager or IT Purchasing Manager a fancy new desktop!

I would like to see the new Silverstone Sugo SG01-Evolution.

Also what happened to the OcUK Value Aspire X-Qpack Cube Case's?

So far, I think OcUK have one of the best range of Cases. Tho lacking in some accessories, It's still all good - better than many TBH.

I remember seeing clear Acrylic cases but it seem to have completely disappear? Not that I'm wanting it now, after many reviews. Speaking of reviews (abit off the topic but..) it'll be great if under each product/case, have a link to a review - may it be OcUK forum review or perhaps others.

Or, we could just add your MSN address to the bottom of each case picture with "For further information, talk to Yewen" :p

Not all, have not used a few of the cases on OcUK yet, mainly that new Antec HTPC jobbie.

I think a short blurb on a suitable system or use would be quite good, a competitor does it and it adds a rough idea of what the case is aimed at.

Vento, overpriced dustbin. :p

Hows about having a word with Antec to see if they would supply cases to OcUK without PSU's.
Many of us buy new cases but keep our PSU's so having a lesser powered one included is a waste. It would have course make the cases a little cheaper as well.
