Excuse the noob question but how do i only use 1 core when i run the bench? I only have an option for disabling HT in the bios i think.

I5 2550K. i wouldn't mind a 2600k/2700k but im saving for a gpu + 4k monitor which is quite expensive so im putting it off till next year

yes i might have to see if i can break 190 if i get beaten.

im going to get some 2400mhz ram for my htpc anyway, so that will hopefully boost my score if i do a few runs with my i5 first, as my 1600mhz vengeance doesn't oc at all

You have to beat my 5.2ghz single core,I can do a 5ghz run on my ivy,not on my sandy tho that's not a good clocker

Be carefull how much voltage your putting through them

On haswell ive found cache oc'ing to be more productive than faster ram, score i posted up was with 42x cache and sammy greens at 2133mhz, 9-10-10-21 1T. Since moved to 2400mhz ram, 10-11-11-31 2T, (had it at 2600mhz, 11-13-12-31, 1T but forgot to test this). Ran it just now and managed 908, ram on its xmp profile but cache at stock. Cant get the cpu much higher as it gets quite hot.

My 3770k is annoying, doesn't need a lot of V for 4.5Ghz. The problem i'm having, my board wont apply anymore than 45x multiplier, so that's on my list is to get yet another Z77 board and stop selling/chucking the others out.

Keeping my eyes peeled on the MM, missed a GD65 the otherday

What board do you have? I got my mpower from ocuk for £100 in the grade b section.shame they dont have any more. Gigabyte up4 is a good board.

When i type anything more than 45, be it fixed, turbo etc it wont apply. Exit and save, 48x 1.something V. Boot into Windows, check CPU-Z and its running 4500mhz.

Latest bios - Same
CMOS clear - Same.

I lost interest and the rig has been sitting in my shed for a while now

That is interesting, because a person on the ltt forum has the same board as you and has done 5.3ghz with a 2600k using a 53 multiplier. Not sure why you can only get 45 with a 3770k. Might need a bios update or maybe even an older bios.

The boards decent, will put a 2500k in there next weekend (working this weekend) and have a play, try and take your single core score

(not benched more than 5G with it, so curious how it does)

If not, will dump the board and try with my Z68 board, just too lazy to update the bios to get it working with IB lol

i dont mind if anyone does though. I like a bit of competition. Ive always wanted to do 5.4ghz and break 190 anyway. Even if i go up 2cb i would move up 5 places. Its just a case of waiting for a cold night when i can get the ambient temperature down.

I've got some decent CL6 ram, what helps

It's times like now, when its getting hotter i really really regret selling my chiller. Converted my shed into a bench room now though

Only thing i'm missing is QDCs, the never seem to come up second hand so need to shell out a few quid so i can change graphics card, blocks quickly. In the process of collecting hardware though, getting myself some decent clocking chips

Will be going for points when X99 comes out, just a bit of fun atm though

Biggest shame is not enough time on the weekends when i work most of them
