OcUK competitor rant

I'm still waiting for mine since Monday morning. Rang yesterday and was told it would ship but it didn't, rang again today and told it will ship. We'll see.

Don't suppose you've ordered a Lian Li O11D EVO? I have a feeling this is causing the issue even though the website says it's in stock and they've told me it's in stock. Just wish they'd be up front with me so I can cancel and order elsewhere instead, which will be what happens regardless if they tell me twice they'll ship and they don't.

Sounds like the issue might be with some warehouse where my products are sat, they keep referring to it being in a different warehouse.

Had it happen with various companies (not computer related), one told me they didnt stock locally so had out of date info from supplier who ships the good for them.

Another said they forgot to update their website.

I expect the first case was probably legit, is fair few etailers out there who dont sell stock from own premises, second I expect an excuse to get orders before having stock to sell.

I rang earlier and I was told the warehouse is a day behind so is due to ship today. I ordered a benq monitor.

Thing is the monitor is actually cheaper elsewhere even though I get free postage from ocuk. I only ordered as Ocuk service is usually excellent. If It doesn't arrive tomorrow I won't have anyone at home Friday to receive it and it'll just become a hassle.

They're obviously having issues ..

Hah yeah I don't want to be discussing competitors, but I didn't buy from them for price. They're definitely not just a day behind when it comes to my order, I'll be 3 days behind. These things happen, but it's definitely frustrating. Perhaps they've had COVID hit their warehouse or something.

Ordered a monitor from ocuk yesterday morning at 7am with the free next day delivery. Still not had a dispatch email... Usually good but everywhere slips up from time to time.
I ordered a case and RAM on Monday at 14:50 and still haven't had an update. I'm not normally bothered, but I did pay £11.70 for 24 hour delivery. I guess it's Black Friday week so more likey to be higher volume of orders than normal.

This isn't instilling me with confidence.....
I was told the same thing about my order being posted out yesterday and the warehouse staff being 24hrs behind. I'm just too excited about building my first computer for 15 years and I'm really impatient at the best of times. Only a case and RAM short of all the components!

To be honest I think I've just had a similar experience with OCUK. Ordered a 4090 before 2pm on monday with next day delivery.. Its just been shipped this morning.
No response to my ticket yet.
Although my experience with their largest competitor a few years back was much much much worse..

I get you mate, nothing like a fresh build. Enjoy it, it's not often you get to start from scratch unless your minted.

Same, I’ve got all my parts but this. Got a 4090 sat on my desk.

The DOA anxiety is building! Need these parts in a case so I know they work and then I can enjoy.

I've been overthinking installing the CPU for ages - dropping it on the pins, bending the pins etc - so much so, I installed it last night because I couldn't stop thinking about it! It went well and went in with no problems.

Glad to hear it worked out. I’m just nervous I’ve got something like a bent pin and the retailer thinks I did it just because I’ve taken so long to come back to them.

It’s my 7th pc build, never lose the anxiety of it.

Finally got the shipment email. Can hopefully put my needless nervousness to bed once and for all tomorrow!

I wont mentioned names.
Twice now I've ordered from a certain website where an item has shown as being in stock, for next day delivery. Great, I order
I receive am email with the order status and 'Estimated Delivery Date' of next day, payment comes out and all is good.
Then I check the order the next day and it's still 'awaiting picking' on the day of delivery (when I've made arrangements to be a home)
Call said competitor, on hold for 10 minutes to be told its not in stock.

Anyone experienced similar with OcUK competitors? Never had this issue with OcUK

I've had this happen on OCUK quite a bit in the past which is why I took a long hiatus ordering from here and still often don't.
It's a shame because I would always order from here before that and it was probably just a spell they were going through, but this sort of thing does put you off and it takes a while to trust them again.

Same for me with said OcUK competitor.

An item was showing as available and 'in stock' on the competitor website but I ordered elsewhere at an increased price that had guaranteed next day (Sunday) delivery.
I could have ordered at the cheaper place but then had to wait which it was 'awaiting picking' and delivered late (or never as per happened in the past with a 5800X from there)
