Maybe you need to attend one to be disabused of that notion - I went to the most recent Edinburgh meet and have met a few other people outside of that and none of the above happened, except perhaps the repeating oneself but well, hell, you add beer and that sort of thing is to be almost expected.

As far as I can tell to organise a meet you need to pick a date and stick to it, tell people where and when to meet and be firm on those details - if you aren't then nothing will happen at all, you can't please everyone so just set it up and most people will attend if they are interested. It's also usually advisable for legal reasons to make it over 18s only because if you don't then the "responsible adults" there are viewed as being in charge of the under 18s - it's unfortunate but sensible to stick to this especially if alcohol will be involved.

A few of the Dons will probably be there, but not to enforce any rules - we are humans as well you know.

Meet-ups can either be totally awesome or just one big fail.

I attend yearly meetups for another site i go on and we have a blast. We play football and pub crawl for the whole weekend.

All we need to do is find a place, work out a time and then decide what to do.

Over in Motors we have many meets, one every month lately, we also have members of other forums turn up too as we organise them between both. We have members of staff and forum admins turn up from both of the forums...OcUK can't police the world, only their corner of the internet.

I'd rather a pub setting TBH, instead of spending time at AT/Thorpe park, and they will be closing soon.

They have winter days, and it'll be good to get everyone with a bit of adrenaline, then lots of booze later.

Pub setting is for the evening, then I vote the Travelodge plan
