OCUK GPU prices correct or is there a code to use?

I've got about 10 different store pages open on my browser that I keep checking and OCUK by far have the highest mark up on cards compared to anyone else, I mean their prices are at scalper level in some instances

Most websites are scalper prices at the moment. You can't just have it in for OcUK like it seems you do.

I wouldn't say most it is a select few and I don't have it for ocuk I've been a customer for almost 20 years but I will happily call out what I think is wrong if knoqone did it would never change

What are you basing your "highest mark up" on though as MSRP doesnt exist on AIB's and hasnt done this generation.

Could be the other stores managed to buy stock at a different price to OCUK its all down to the distributor price the etailers dont determine the high prices. eg if OCUK buys a 100 x 3070's for £950 they are not going to sell it for £800.

Most companies tend to use the same distributors and will likely be charged the same and ocuk being as big as it is will likely get the better deal with bulk buying so when a much smaller retailer is selling the same card for £200 less that is hard to justify

I dont understand all this talk of Nvidia cards.

Ok I have a 3070, its a great card, nothing wrong with it. Only reason I have that is I got sorted on an OCUK forum deal (thank you for that OCUK btw) so it was a complete no brainer purchase - but if it hadnt been for that I would have bought a 6700xt.

AMD are clearly giving better bang for buck in this climite, ok, a 6700xt is on average, about 11% slower than a 3070, but looking at the price difference, plus the AMD equivalent has more VRAM so may be more future proof and on some games today that will impact. Plus the higher end cards are giving much better value for money.

Oh but no ray tracing you say?

Well again, thats up to your own requirement, I have had my RTX card 5 months and I havent put ray tracing on anything. IMO its a marketting gimic and that is coming from someone who owns an RTX card.

I dunno Nvidia definately have this "thing" over the market where people are almost disregarding AMD cards I just dont get it.

The cheapest 3070 is the founders edition, which is £300 cheaper than any 6700XT OCUK currently have in stock. So buy a GPU that is 11% slower but 145% more expensive or hold out and attempt to get a 3070 FE?
As for Nvidia they also have DLSS which can massively improve performance with next to little or no image loss depending on the game.

gpu at rrp??

uless u get lucky at nvidia

Nvidia selling some, and it IS some in the grand scheme of things, at the MSRP, is nothing more than a marketing ploy.

"Look what you can buy" when in reality, AIB cards included, you'll end up paying a LOT more than MSRP for one. The time, effort and LUCK needed to get a card at MSRP is madness, compared to a few years ago. MSRP WAS a thing that could be trusted back then, now it isn't.

I agree with you on the Nvidias FE cards being good, but they are so scarce that its a dream for most, to get one at a decent price....the MSRP price.

Nvidia must have sold millions of units worldwide. Comparable to console sales, i-phone sales, I would imagine.

The demand means that is still scarce yes, but can't knock the amount of units they must have been making.

In comparison I would say AIB designs have been far fewer.

When AMD released the 6000 series no-one could get them either. They made hardly any cards it seems, even for AIBs, because all their fab space was devoted to consoles. They could have cleaned up and gained massive market share in GPU space if they had made cards plentiful. Massive failure on AMD's part this year has been.

I'm sure the contract to produce chips for the consoles was pretty clear on penalties for not meeting specific demand thresholds. I suspect they know what they are doing.

Ive played Minecraft and Quake rtx. Fantastic in rtx.

Its a bit of conjecture as you dont actually know.

Which card are you referring to by the way ?

Exactly my point, I am not hating on OCUK but thier prices are awfully suspect when compared to other retailers. Just because you can get more stock than others does not mean you can charge a premium like that that is called scalping

£949.99 for the RTX3070 palit gaming pro LHR card (10+ in stock)
£899.99 for the RTX3070 tuf LHR (10+ in stock)

I'm sorry but really they are not even TI

If you think that those retailers selling for £200 less are not scalper pricing you might be a bit lost.

Oh I agree every retailer is jumping on the bandwagon it's typical demand and supply and I do not expect to pay msrp like I did years ago now in this current climate but what I don't like is pricing that is so outrageous that it needs calling out

Hahaha haha Im a wiredo!!!!!! For pointing out inappropriate pricing of cards that alternative retailers are charging over £200 less you moron

There is a reason that there are still 10+ of these cards still in stock even though people are desperate for gpu's and that's because they won't pay the scalper pricing on a retail website

I am inclined to agree. Some 6800xt's on the site have just gone up in price, one by about £70 since last week. Surely they have already bought them so shouldn't need to keep putting them up further? They are already over £1000 which is insane to begin with. They do sometimes do deals which brings the price down but for the most part the prices are higher here.
