OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

I wasn't really that bothered about upgrading my GPU but when I saw the price/performance of the 9070XT I was sold on getting one. At the prices we currently have, I can't justify buying. I get it if you have a 8gb card or lower and can't hold out any longer, but It feels like people are just jumping on a hype train that was created by the non existent msrp and need the latest trending GPU. People are bragging about having a 9070XT all over Reddit even though they have have been bent over and overpaid.

That’s a bit of a leap. A lot more people got a 9000 at MSRP or close to it than all of the people who got a 5000 series at MSRP or just over. It’s not great that current prices are about 15% over MSRP but it’s still better than why we have had.

I am quite confident I will be able to buy 9070 xt at msrp soon. When exactly, I don't know, perhaps in a few months but I can wait, my 3070 will have to do in the meantime, it's still under warranty, delivers above minimum I expect so not a problem.

Not going to happen. MSRP when initial launch occurred, would be around £550-£560 for the 9070XT after tax. But retailers could only get that after rebate. Meaning the actual cards initial price here would be around £620-630 without rebate. Right now, you are paying maybe £20-30 more than what is desired for the £650 ones.

Maybe on Black Friday, prices would get closer to MSRP.

Just as a reference point against the EU situation.

The 9070XT TUF (in stock 14th March) in the EU is near identical price to the price OCUK were/are charging for it - 799 GBP ish

The 5070ti TUF (in stock 14th March) in the EU is 1,250 EUR inc VAT. which is around 1050 GBP.
Valid point!

Might not be the case, but if you’re anything like me and have them leave it on the porch because of mobility issues, you can create an account on the app and set “needs extra time” for the address and they tend to actually listen and wait for you, so no need to have it sitting on the porch.
will try the "might need extra time" - i had another delivery from overclockers today and again DPD did not ring the doorbell - am going to retain.

Missed out today :( .

XT 3100MHz model, £630, open box, 12 mths warranty.

After I got ping, added straight to basket and as logged in to account it was gone.

"Oh yeah, we've shipped more units across four models—including our more affordable ones that people actually buy—than we did in the first few weeks of launching our most expensive model last generation." Honestly, color me surprised, but I'm not entirely convinced. Why do you think that is?
GN covered that in their latest video quoting from nvidia's statement that basically there is 'no shortage, there are more units shipped than previous generations, nothing to see here, go home.' Gaslighting? No, of course not.

im glad i got an msrp model, but AMD encouraging msrp models, but will they every return i wonder as they rarer than hens teeth
The rebated MSRP I feel will never return. They might eventually hit that price naturally, but I do think the rebated price was limited to the launch. I've yet to see or hear of any efforts by AMD to continue rebates, and there hasn't been enough blowback to force their hand either.

i doubt blowback happen for a while as tbh gamers just happy to get a decent gpu after the way green team screwed them/us

If that’s what it’s going to take then so be it. Plenty of things to do in the summer months other than be stuck inside staring at a screen.
