Gibbo also said in the opening post of this thread that he advised against using PayPal, as although it appears faster at your end, it can take a lot longer (hours) for the funds to be released, which is the point at which your oder is confirmed.

..... Was that what you meant by backlash? :p

exactly like i said.drip the msrp ones so that scalpers get them,then us plebs can pay higher prices that the scalpers dont want..

And I'm inclined to believe the reason Gibbo gave as well. Had no reason to lie to us about the reason being because OcUK paid more for that stock - he could have just stayed silent.

Absolutely, they're still in stock after a few minutes of being available. No doubt OcUK will still move all their stock at this new price, but it's quite apparent people are less keen outside MSRP.

That's it. Price low and release a limited amount so people get in a frenzy, then up the price and release loads so people panic and buy just incase.

If you can setup Paypal to not authorise like some people have, then in theory that should be very quick.
The biggest issue we see is Amazon can glitch and finance takes a long time.

At one point yesterday we were selling 100+ cards of one SKU every 15s, hence the authenticating process would slow the transaction and thus the stock sold out.

AMD have a monster on their hands, a good situation for them but demand is crazy, even the OC cards sell out in minutes.

Reasonable card at MRSP if you could check out fast enough. However an extra £50 £60 a day later is pure bait and switch from AMD. It's only £60 in the grand scheme of things but buying it at inflated prices just reinforces this type of practice from AMD and Nvidia.

That is why I dropped the hint here, because you guys literally have around five minutes before the traffic swoops in and starts buying them all up.

We do have several deliveries due today and next week, so we might have more available later.

We have sold around 5000 units now, warehouse is working very hard to get them all shipped out today. :)
 
Missed out once again, OOS message when payment authentication is done. I had the text box details stored and filled out from cache, payment info copied direct from notepad, literally could not have been quicker.

I give up, **** overclockers, **** gaming, I'll go remap the car or buy another lens for the camera. It shouldn't be this hard to buy a damn graphics card :cry:

Yeah, the head of purchasing at OCUK was working from home at 10pm, hiding messages about card releases in private parts of the forum, which can only be accessed by active members, solely to help the scalpers out :rolleyes:

Some people just don't appreciate the effort of others :cry:

The private areas are for long term members, not new members who sign up just to try and scalp so it was the opposite of what your suggesting.
So get your facts right! :rolleyes:
