If its a pretty heavy cooler it also helps stop the GPU sagging but apart from that its more for aesthetics

Not sure if you seen the pics yet but design is amazing.
3x 100mm fans and the card is smaller then the last Gen, one fan sits lower but is flipped but with flow still going the same way. blades are angled like cogs
Take away the top and bottom and move the to side ones in a vertical line and you get the idea.
15 Power phase aswell but note sure how its split with ram and ppl

Any idea when the Inno3d Ichill cards will arrive?
The pre-order hover over originally said an ETA of 27th of May on Friday but doesn't say anything if you hover over it currently.
I heard elsewhere that the 28th was the date for these cards but that might have been a dream.

Yes me too please. I ordered one as it original said the 27th May on arrival date. Now the hover date on the pre-orders has been removed and no word on these cards.
The date was half the reason that I picked this card over the other more well regarded brands. That and going off reviews of the previous versions of the iChill cards the cooler is a beast (E.g. REVIEW) and the factory overclock is decent.

I got told I'm 18 in the queue for my EVGA FTW and should be in the first batch. Just need to sit tight until they arrive now!

same here - I asked in CS and basically got told they have no idea when stock will be in but if EVGA are saying the 17th then that is more likely to be true
quite why they decided to list it up with the 3rd June as the expected date then is anyone's guess :/
Unlike EK models this might actually work with some of the non-reference PCBs as well.

I like it too. But I suspect we won't see it in the stores until 6-8 weeks from now, since these cards are binned and it will take time. Gigabyte Xtreme cards are always released about 2 months after the main release.
You won't get either of them until July so you have a lot of time reading up the reviews and making a final decision!

To be fair that's the date they have probably been given. At least Ben (EVGA rep) has been around the forums to give some clarity and I do believe he said they would aim to get the FTW editions in stock at the same time as the SC's which is only another week or so. Fingers crossed!

Yup, managed to find that photo by a Gigabyte rep in the comments section of one article. Have to say I'm enjoying the aesthetics of the card and it will actually be the first card I've owned with a backplate.
The additional panel for VR is interesting and I might well use it when the second gen of consumer headsets are out.
Argh, did not realise this. I assumed it would be out in the middle of the month. I'm holding off on playing Doom until I get the card and can play it maxed out.
