** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

What card do you have currently, my brother and me are running GTX770's until new systems turn up, the Vive works fine in most games with this even though it is below min spec supposedly.
That's an EVGA SC version I have.

May be worth trying you rift, if nothing else it will get the software installed.

Funnily enough, I had a Titan but I sold it to a work mate as I expected the new one to arrive. Currently using a laptop with a 4th gen i7 and a GTX 770m. It might work and I guess I could give it a try but I'm tempted to just wait. I'll get a chance to check it out this weekend anyway.

So Ive been looking at both Pallit cards and for £30 difference one had 100mhz more on the boost clock. Is it true that all the 1080s are boosting higher than advertised clocks anyway? Has anyone bought one that dosnt boost higher than the advertised clocks by any chance?

Sorry for all the questions but I like to cover all bases before I choose

Every Nvidia card I've owned since GPU Boost was introduced has boosted well above its advertised clocks out of the box. The latest version does it even more aggressively, pretty much handling most of overclocking the card for you.

People swapping from other cards a who had ordered earlier. Suspect more asus people have swapped esp if they saw stock of ftw is coming in

I didn't realise that could happen. I'd got up to 36 earlier this week so thought I'd be safe for this first batch. Will be quite frustrating at this point if I end up in the second batch (or worse!) having waited this long, given I ordered on the friday they were announced.

I've got a back up order in with the rainforest and despite it being cheaper I'm happier to give my money to OC due to customer service etc.

Have to see what tomorrow and friday brings I guess...

My TX manually overclocked well but never went higher than the advertised 1170 out of the box

I'm still 284th in the queue for the 1080 OC Strix... kinda expecting it will be another couple of weeks before it get my hands on it :/

Two weeks? Bwahahahahahah.

Thought gibbo said 50 this week only? The speed that asus is going and the fact they keep bringing more and more lower speed cards in the range means they are really struggling to match their quoted speed. I can honestly see it being into August before you see you card. Sorry

I hope not but you're probably right... you would think with asus's automated manufacturing they should be able to churn them out pretty quick, unless they are limited by something else

They all boost but some top out at 2000, some at 2100. Not much difference.

Most manufacturers seem to be speed binning esp since they are struggling to hit the high clocks in their range. Pallid will be one of these.

The jet streams and gamerock are all the exact same custom board but 4 different pre oc speeds. Asus is doing the same and now have three exact boards.

So make card, test for highest advertised clock speed in the range. Passes fine, sell it. If it fails, drop it down to the next speed etc.

so, in theory the lesser speed palit cards might not clock as high but you barely notice the difference and 30 is 30

I guess not. Just worried that as its so cheap in compared to the others, 17xx may be where it tops out

So my Strix OC arrived today!......grrr an hour before I had to leave for work. Having had a play around all I can say is over 6 weeks of waiting was worth it. The card performs superb and fits in nicely to my ROG Maximus Formula mobo. I hope everyone gets theirs soon

Gibbo, any update on ETA for Gigabyte's Xtreme Standard edition please ?
Looks like they are only selling PP edition as it's bigger profit.

I'm worrying that my 4 years extended warranty will expire before I will even get my card :D:D:D
