** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Gibbo......it's me again, but it is for me very important
I would swap pre order KFA2 GTX 1080 "Reference Blower"(£600) for GTX 1080 HerculeZ Twin X2 .(£620-1 in stock)
I want to pay £20 extra.

it is possible??

First world troubles they are, In civilized society if something is launched and you pay for it straight away for full price you shouldn't be expected to wait up to 4months for said item. I got a new rig sitting here gathering dust, so yeah slightly heartbreaking, no drama, not as heartbreaking as splitting up with my ex and breaking my hands, but stressful none the less.

Also way to state the obvious, its an enthusiast market. If anyone is buying a brand new gtx1080 and they are hard up then they probably should rethink their priorities.

Agreed, it's pretty dire customer service. I think I'd have switched to another card by now.

I tried for something similar (albeit from Strix OC preorder) and was denied. Have bitten the bullet and paid the full damned-you-Leave-voters price for the Gigabyte PP. No shipping confirmation yet, but I see some form of light at the end of this long dark tunnel.

But you were willing to take the hit and pay more. Even if they will say no, I will stick to my pre-Brexit pre-order. I hope Gibbo will be ok with this. Asus Strix queue is at least moving. Here, nothing is happening.

Yes just call CS and show my reply here, they will sort for you. :)

An update should be end of this week or next week, by update they mean news about deliveries not actual delivery.

We also have 20pc 1080 SC due today/tomorrow as well. :)

damn, two weeks ago I was 23rd in the SC queue (ordered on 23rd June), I'm really hoping that a few people have switched....

I sent webnote on Saturday and I got the answer:

"Dear rafal,
Thank you for your webnote, Hello Rafal, I cannot confirm if we can do this for you, however if you contact us on Monday we can ask the product manager for you, is this okay?
Regards,
Richard L"

today also sent webnote...Unfortunately, no answers :(

Hey Gibbo.
Can you please let me know if I can swap to Xtreme PP and pay preBrexit price difference of £30?
I don't think Gigabyte is even planning to release standard edition and I have a feeling all Strix OC orders will be fulfilled by the time I get any update.
I guess there isn't much difference to OCUK and at least you will get another order done :-D

Hey Gibbo

I have a EVGA 1080 Hybrid pre-order made on 14/06 for £689.99.

If I were to switch to the Zotac AMP Extreme (GX-102-ZT) could I get a similar pre-brexit price?

Understand completely if the answer is no.

Thanks.

Guys if I could do pre-brexit pricing, the cards would be at those prices online.

You need to realise our typical margin on a VGA card is 5-10% in order to be competitive in the market. The change in the pound against USD meant it weakened by 10% against the US dollar, 10% is a good average to use, in some cases it was lower and others higher.

But in short the pound weakened typically by more than we would make profit wise.

If I was a car parts dealership and selling most of my items at 40-100% margin as most car parts have this kind of margin, then guess what, pricing simply would not of changed as 10% would be easy to soak up and to simply make 10% less margin. Unfortunately in this industry, particular components margin is typically single digits, we throw parties when we can hit double digit margins and still be competitive in the market.

So its not a case of just doing a pre-brexit price, we simply cannot without actually making a loss unfortunately or literally breaking even.

As promised, all those who placed pre-orders their orders will be honoured at their pre-order price and EVGA at somepoint will indeed ship Hybrids and Classified's, so far they are yet to start shipping, as soon as they do you will get your cards at the prices you pre-ordered at, yes we will make a loss but yours orders will be completed. :)

As I said, completely understood if it was a no. :)

Just for the sake of discussion though - If you're losing X number of pounds selling me the Hybrid at the pre-order price I have, is there a huge material difference in losing that same margin on a different card? 'Different pockets, same pants' if you will.

(I want to stress, I'm not taking an argumentative approach here, I'll stick with the Hybrid - I can appreciate what you're saying and at the end of the day, it's your prerogative).

1080 FTW, we have 70 units due today/tomorrow EVGA have informed me, this will clear all backorders on this part. :)

So, I ordered a 1080 FTW on the 7th of July, been using webnotes to keep an eye on my position in the queue and I've watched myself go up and down the ordering. Only been using web notes as my forum account submissions were denied and the live-chat has been out of action every day since I placed my order.

As of yesterday I was 12th. Sounds like a no brainer I'd be in on this shipment, right? To confirm I was going to be on this latest shipment I sent in a ticket and was told the following by Richard L
I will be honest I am not 100% sure we have enough on order it is just fingers crossed for large batch orders.
