Simply sticking a mic near it and testing the audible sound, isn't exactly a test.

What if I turn the volume up and down on my speakers?
What fan speed is it at? Most fans are loud at higher RPM when % is increased...
What dB is it?
Are they using the preset fan curves or have they customised the curves to be an equal % among the cards?

All I get from that video is, fans when at high RPM are audible...

Ive got a 980ti strix and its fine to be honest, I run it on a 1:1 fan mapping which is higher than stock and its not really any noisier.

That video does show that the inno runs at 1500 max and the strix runs at 2000 by default so it would be interesting to see how the temps and clocks compare

Don't know if it applies to all 3 fan coolers, but I noticed they make a pulsating noise, where a 2 fan cooler just makes a whoosing noise. Pulsating is annoying because you notice it more than a constant sound that does not change. But only 3 fan card I have used was a G1 980 so I don't know if they all do that.

Inno3D was by far the quietest, the other two were similar with a slightly different pitch. The Gigabyte was less annoying IMO.

I was playing the video sound through the same TV as Springwatch, meaning TV was set to comfortable spoken vocal sound level. I had the video level at max, and I couldn't hear anything. Muting Springwatch I could hear the video.
Conclusion: with any other sound happening you wouldn't notice the sound of these GPUs. And that is what I find with my MSI 980ti.

EDIT: But it all depends rather on the recording level and recording method of the video.

I really don't think the Asus Strix will make that noise in practical gaming use. Well, I'm telling myself that based on the OC3D review.
