Died once at 13 I think, decided to try and sneak into the goblin camp to get the umbrella (group quest) but got ambushed by two wandering golbins after kill the two guarding it. :( Would've been alight if I'd trained any skills since the tutorial, didn't visit a trainer till about level 18 I think!

I'm thinking about getting a trial of this... Is it any good? Bored of WoW again lately so I'm after a new MMO to play.

The thing I hated about WoW was the raiding you pretty much HAD to do in order to progress. I used to be a very hardcore WoW player, raiding with my guild for about 4-5 hours a night, but I didn't and still don't want to play a game like that.

What's LOTRO like end game? Is it very much raid focused where you have to spend a stupid amount of time with your guild in order to progress?

I don't know massive amounts about the endgame but from what I hear it is a lot more casual. Now don't associate this with the negative casual of wow, by casual it is more relaxed. No need to lose your life to complete content, content is tailored toward people getting to see it. So whilst it is a challenge there is no cheesey gimmicky crap modes to bash your head against it is a lot more story driven (please correct me if I am wrong) there is sn element of grind toward the end but tell me sn an mmo without it.

I'm an ex wow convert myself and inlove the game. Gameplay is fun, quests are much more story driven so whilst there are moments of grind it doesn't really feel like it as there is always a reason. Community is amazing, the polar opposite to wow which I love.

Get a trial and come join us for a while mate, the worst that can happen is that you won't like it but I think you would be pleasently surprised.

Let us know on here if you are coming for a trial and we will get you on board with kin and give you a hand

You'll rarely find me online at the mo with work but if no one else Kay will be online on one of his 587 different toons that he has :p
 
Char count is 18 at the moment, dont exaggerate :p

Im currently swapping between Kaythalion and Chlothalion, so send a tell to either of those (or add my chars to your friends list) and i'll gladly help you get started :)
 
Client installed and now patching. Don't think it'll take too long.

Any suggestions on what would be a good starter class?

Glad to see things are still progressing along :)

Not had much free time to play over the weekend or this week :( Got loads of college work due in on friday but hopefully get some free time on saturday night and sunday to lvl up some more :D

Edit: Found it and CTS requested, hopefully i can still be called Wescar on Laurelin.

Does anybody here use a custom UI? I've been looking in to it as the default one gets a bit boring after a while :p. Any recommendations?

Just tried adding 'Wescar' to my friends list only to find that the player does not exist on Laurelin, so you should be good to go once the CTS goes through. :)

Regarding the custom UI, I use the default one with the existing customizable options such as ctrl + # for UI unlocking and changing the bottom panel buttons via the UI options etc.
 
Yeah, the UI customisations are really just a re-skin. That said, the few I tried did look a lot cleaner onscreen than the default.
