Personally I think bigger is better. If I could afford to replace my 26" with a 30" Dell I would do so. I agree at higher resolutions you may not be able to play some games (Crysis 2 etc) but I mostly play COD which doesn't require allot of juice.

I wanted a 30" but just could not fit it into my budget :).
However I was used to playing on 1024x resolution on my old computer so a 1920 is just staggering to me.
 
My iiyama 26" @1920x1200 does the trick for me. Theres no way i would drop resolution for better quality.

Quite right indeed. I would never play on anything below 1920x1200 and a 24" monitor. I find the resolution and size of a monitor (below 24" is just too small for me) to be a lot more important to me compared to say playing a game maxed with say 24 x AA or 32x CSAA.
