OcUK Mini Rolling Road Day 14.5 @ PowerStation (Tewksbury) - Saturday November 24th 2012

Looking forward to this. :)

I was going to buy a full carbon X51 intake for mine, along with X51 throttle body but I missed an opportunity on one going cheap for a grand. Nearly gone ahead with the kit anyway but then my brain kicked in and said spending 3k on a carbon air box and throttle body for about 15BHP was just bonkers. :D

So I shall only run if required otherwise no point it shall still be 370 horses.

Hopefully I will have some new bits fitted as I just had to buy some bits for the car so have a Porsche alacantera steering wheel, shifter and handbrake, yeah I love alacantera, miss not having it. :D
Also got myself some Corsa R compound tyres, but not fitting them until it's warmer.

Just looked up the X51 intake for the 911 and it looks great but you are right, 3k is just sick money for an intake.

Is there not something similar for performance gains but made of alloy?

Still a few days to get some new bits on!

I shall be riding up with Jansey B, I'll bring my camera along and snap as I see em, if anyone wants any photos of their cars, let me know. :)

Oh and I won't be hesitating to ask for passenger rides :D

Nope I've already modified my intake and got a performance panel filter in there and I've got the X51 exhaust bits, hence why I'm at 370ish now up from 355.

The carbon intake with it's dual filters and larger throttle body is what give the other 15 or so horsepower. I could try just throttle body by itself potentially but need custom intake tubes which is messy.

To be honest like you say 3k is mental money, id rather put 3k towards tyres and track days because I love driving the car on track, it's epic. :)

Ah right, I don't really know anything other than the basics about Porsche, I guess the larger throttle body needs more flow from the extra intake filter to be effective and show gains.

For power you really need a turbo which would have big gains from small mods but then I guess you loose the balance of the NA engine which you love to track so much.

Hello chaps/Kosta,

I'm really sorry but I'm going to have to pull out of this Saturday. No other reason than being slightly overbooked, despite having free weekends either side, I've managed to have quite a few other things on which have taken president!

Sorry for being an epic fail.

Sorry about this, But I'm going to have to pull out, engine appears to be in pieces across the driveway, and because it's such an uncommon make, It'll cost more than the car is worth to get it fixed, and given the length of time it took to fix the radiator recently, it's most likely out of action till well after christmas.
P.S. I might still come and spectate, if that's ok?
