If members continue to not stick to the rules then OcUK wont offer such kit no matter the cost to anyone.
It is very sad that members who have won something cannot take 5 minutes out of their lives to complete what they agreed to when they entered this comp.
It is a shame and also noticed a few reviews were missing.
What's worse is like you say OcUK will think twice before offering similar competitions.
So far OcUK has been very good to me in the way of free hardware, what with competitions and the forum reviewers, which sadly didn't come off. But whenever I do get something given I will try my up most to provide whatever is asked of me, and then try to go a step further. Usually involving me taking the hardware into the garden with my DSLR + lighting equipment, which when adding on Photoshop time afterwards is quite a few hours work, with the aim in trying to get a slightly more interesting view of the product.
So to do a simple review taking no time at all, isn't asking much.

And it is quite surprising as well considering the guys who got them are "loyal" forum members, I would expect this kind of thing to happen if it was a new member or some guy who has been here for years with less than a 100 posts........
Obviously though, not everyone can drop what there doing, be it due to work, family or/and whatever reason, but they could at least let others know as to why they will be very late with their review.
Personally when/if I get products for free to review, like with the BitFenix Raider (we got the case for free and all we had to do in return, was write a review), even if I buy the products with my own money, I drop everything, if possible and start working on the review as soon as the product is received. But then again I do love to review tech./PC stuff!

I agree that it is indeed poor that some reviews are not up yet. At the very least they could have made a post like me and others did as to when they expect to get the reviews done. I will say though that to do a review with any meaning it doesnt take 5 minutes. Mine taken the best part of an hour and a half to get all done and then get screen shots and pictures and to get it up on ocuk and its not the best reviews in the world lol.

is there not some way that OcUk could charge those who received items for free but then don't review as requested? Failing that I'd ban those who don't abide by the competition rules.
I'm not very good at doing reviews but I still took the time to do as comprehensive review as I could manage, so find it quite offensive when others who have gotten something for nothing feel it's fine to not bother their arses doing the review. They are letting the community down, and clearly don't belong here!!

Banning would be a good alternative, but a more suitable alternative would be removing their access to free shipping, the members market and banning them from entering any more competitions that are hosted here in the future.

Very true, at the absolute least the above should be enforced. Might make folk think before entering comps and possibly end up depriving others who would follow the rules laid out in the competitions t&c's.

People do have other commitments you know, things that are far more important than testing some free fan. Before you start saying "I shouldn't of thrown my name into the hat then" my circumstances have changed significantly between then and now.
People need to stop and think before jumping on their high horse so quickly just because they missed out.
But as I'm not going to have time to do this, I've contacted a random person who was also interested in the same fan I was sent (Lego) and I will be sending my fan to him for testing. People who don't have the time to do it should do the same.

Also I just re-read the first post again:
So, OCUK should be able to demand that the fans be returned and if not then they should be able to charge them for failing to meet the conditions along with the banning for the areas I mentioned.
Well that is true that some people's work load or whatever changes constantly, but the fans were sent out on the 4th of January, so people should have received them within the next day or two, it is now the 23rd Jan. That is plenty of time to get a good review for a couple of fans done.
My BitFenix Raider review, which is extremely long, took me about 3-4 days to do, moving my rig into the Raider, taking multiple photos, testing the cooling and noise performance, cropping the photos, deciding, which ones to use etc. then all of the writing and having to upload all the images etc. to tinypic and arrange everything with regards to layout.
To do a good review of the fans, it would not take any more than a day max.
And if people are tied for time, then at the very least they should post here, letting OCUK and the others know that (obviously people don't expect the reviews to be posted on the same day that they receive them, but not nearly 3 weeks without any word as to why they will be late, that is if they even have any intentions of doing a review....) or if they can't see themselves having any time at all, do what you did
Also, I didn't apply for any fans, I only posted after the competition closed, saying something like "if any are left, send a few my way

I guess to avoid this in the future is to charge full amount for the fans, then when the reviews are up, OCUK refund them.
Only possible way I can see that ensures OCUK dont loose out to the ungreatful and it still rewards those who do the reviews.

What I was going to say was that I was looking to buy some fans. The size I wanted havn't been reviewed so I'm still here waiting.

Phobya Nano-G 14 PWM Silent Edition
I must first apologise that this review has taken so long; I was waiting for my Bitfenix Spectre Pro's to arrive as well so that i could compare all three 140mm fans. Anyway, seeing as they havent, and i dont want to keep you waiting any longer, i thought i'd just post up my initial thoughts. I will do a longer, more thorough review when i get the other fans.
Anyway, this is the packaging - i think it is rather smart
This is what is in the box - a very nice looking fan, and some fan screws
The fan is really nicely made, nice solidity to the plastic, no creaking when flexed
The front of the blades are smooth, but the backs are rough - i assume this is either to help airflow or for LED versions to shine more evenly (this is not an LED version, but i assume the same frame is used for LED versions)
The only spare 140mm fan i had to compare it to was this Coolermaster 140mm fan, the Phobya Fan is nicely smoked, with a smart black sleeving and is heatshrinked well at the ends - it is also a PWM version which reduces noise when idling
In contrast the Coolermaster fan is smooth black plastic, with no definition of the blades, no sleeving and a horrid looking connector - the Phobya outpaces it by a mile in terms of build quality and asthetics
Finally, i would like to talk about the structure of the fans. The corners have these V-shaped strengthening posts in them that really do give the plastic its rigidity. I also imagine this is where the LED's are put into the frame, but i cannot state this conclusively - it is just an observation.
Overall i am very impressed by these fans:
- fantastic build quality
- Braided cable with heatshrunk ends
- PWM functions
- Black connector
In terms of cost, these fans are £10.99 (here). If i were to compare these to another 140mm PWM fan, the popular Akasa Apache Black 140mm PWM fans (here) i would say they are better value for money.
I am yet to test performance, but at 2/3rds of the cost, i would recommend the Phobya fans over the Apache.
