**OcUK NOW STOCKING APPLE PRODUCTS!!**

So is this where OcUK turns into ****** and they focus on consumer products rather than computer hardware?


I'm sorry but some of the ranges we've seen being added are just odd and not exactly your target market!
 
They are the exact same price as buying them from Apple directly - except you get free engraving from Apple directly were that feature is not available from Overclockers.

So why should we buy them from here over Apple? Infact the 32GB and 64GB model are actually 95p and 99p more expensive on Overclockers..

EDIT - Not that it really matters as I have no intentions of buying an iPad anyway after just recently buying the Google Nexus 7 tablet..

OcUK has a target market agreed and nothing has changed with that. :)

We also have massive expansion happening and as such our range in IT equipment is and has increased. But our core market remains un-changed, you can still buy latest gaming hardware or latest kit for overclocking. :)

So... A computer retail company shouldn't sell computer products that it's customers want because it somehow devalues their pedigree somehow? They do have to turn a profit to keep trading you know...

Id agree if OCUK suddenly stopped selling RAM or something to focus on iPad sales but if they can afford to launch a new range and maintain current lines then.. Why not?

If OCUK stopped launching new lines you'd moan like hell anyway

Its just an other product we offer and is already selling quite well surprisingly.

You should see if Apple can source you a slightly better deal, selling it at the full RRP and even 95/99p more is quite daunting.. If I remember right I have heard how strict Apple are on their pricing structure. Even if you could sell them £5 less than full RRP I reckon you could sell a lot more of these.

Haha, resellers for Apple make 3-4% margin, if your really lucky zou might make 6%, the only people who make money on Apple is Apple themselves.

If we go five pound less than Apple on some lines we'd make a loss.
 
More chance of Gibbo giving up driving and cycling to work every day.

Apple guard their profit margins ruthlessly.

Simple, we don't hold them in OcUK warehouse, they ship from one of the UK's distributors warehouse, as such that note is there so people don't come to our shop to pick one up. In the future once we've established good sales we shall hold stock in our shop. :)

Agreed :cool:

It is just another step away, from the original owners idea of a computing site for customers, to the new owners ideas...painful to see the site starting to fade away from original values towards the similar Purple shirt brigade shop.

Sorry but 100% disagree, we sold Apple MP3 devices when MP3 players were the thing to have. We sell laptops, Ipad/Tablet is another form of mobile computing.
We are offering an expansion of what we already offer with Ipads. Its not like were moving into a far more general consumer base, for example mobile phones.

OcUK has as repution of selling quality items, it does not get much better in the Tablet sector than the Ipad. :)

Were not selling hoovers, toasters or general house hold appliances, that is next week. ;)
