The problem is Apple. They are actively and aggressively pursuing software patents and laying claim to a shape: rectangle. Stopping other companies competing with them and holding back and hindering innovation and advancement. There appears to be a strong backlash against Apple of late of late, with regards this.

Totally This! I will not be spending my money on sites that support Apple products unless the price is much lower that I can't resist and that includes the Jungle and others if possible.

I think it is a great move from OCUK to sell Apple products. Not all countries in Europe have an Apple Store to get the correct retail price. Most re-sellers will charge you an extra 5-15% of the normal cost.

Apple the company for style over substance and they are also one of the worst companys out there in many ways from the slave labour they use to make their products (don't take my word for it plenty of evidence on the net all you have to do is search) to the ridiculous legal crap they are pullihng left right and centre. They are not a company i will ever buy from or support until they clean up their act which i have more chance of my bacon sarnie flying to me then that happening.

I ordered one of these along with a case. Website displays 10+ ipads for immediate dispatch, however, after they did not arrive I rang and was told that these are ordered on an per order basis.

Might not be an option on the website, it's easier to display 10+ stock on the website than please bear with us we have to buy through apple

Sorry but 100% disagree, we sold Apple MP3 devices when MP3 players were the thing to have. We sell laptops, Ipad/Tablet is another form of mobile computing.
We are offering an expansion of what we already offer with Ipads. Its not like were moving into a far more general consumer base, for example mobile phones.
OcUK has as repution of selling quality items, it does not get much better in the Tablet sector than the Ipad.
Were not selling hoovers, toasters or general house hold appliances, that is next week.
Obviously the decision to stock ipads, etc was going to be contentious, I personally find them a bit out of place on what I've come to expect over the years at OcUK but it's ultimately up to you guys.
Regardless, I think that you have taken a leap to the side of mobile computing, which is probably a good idea, but in the process I think you've overstepped expanding your range to products that would be more attractive to your current customer base. Maybe I'm generalising but I think many of the people that visit OcUK would be interested in say an android tablet over an ipad - I know you already have some tablets but I think you can agree there could be a better range there. Those are just my thoughts.

It is a slightly strange that it seems that you order here for them to just refer your order to presumably apple or another reseller to handle your order... I like to order from OCUK, but this does not really seem like whats happening.
I can see from both sides, the message seems to be, sell Ipads if you want but don't get distracted from your core offering which put you in this position in the first place... I suppose people that have RSS alerts etc set to the latest deals feed may not want to know about this type of launch and thats why they are moaning?
I personally do like the idea that OCUK is a specialist in an area of business, they are widening that area so be interesting to see what happens, hopefully it wont be jack of all trades master of none as per some competitors.

Apple are dicks when it comes to lawsuits, bad businessmen IMO. They really need to learn about a gentleman's agreement...
However, their product quality and CS are absolutely top notch. I know not of any other computing company that you can take your faulty product into one of their stores and come out with a new one set up and ready to use.
OcUK - if I ordered an iPad today, would I get it tomorrow via DPD next day?
hope you aren't paying upfront for these from apple because apple products plummet in price whenever new stuff comes out and if you're sat with stock them hmm. actually you know what if I bought an ipad i'd buy it here because apple don't give you haribo.

It is just another step away, from the original owners idea of a computing site for customers, to the new owners ideas...painful to see the site starting to fade away from original values towards the similar Purple shirt brigade shop.
