**** me with a bargepole , joint 7th :eek:.

It was only one of those infamous placeholders until I did my 'proper' shot.

I was going to put some toy sharks in a bowl of custard & take a technicaly perfect shot in a very arty way then title it

"Whats Yellow and Dangerous......"



but I forgot when the competition ended and was away that weekend :(

My faves:-

Cybermyk - Great ideas and nice lighting from the bottles in the background.

I also liked the bike ones. They are both very sharp!

Pheebs - Nearly got a shot the same as this myself, but no camera stopped me. :p

Gregeff - Well done mate. You always enter the comp, and now you're at the top of the season. Congrats!
 
Wahooo!! I'm so happy :D Cheers guys!! I've entered every comp for the last 2 years or so and finally won one!! :) My first entry with my EOS350D too! ;)

Thanks to all the judges and well done to all who entered!

Oooh dear, now i have to choose a theme! ooer, I'll have a think while i'm at work tomorrow and try to come up with something! I'm open to ideas, so let me know if you have any good ones!

Cheers :D the shot may have looked like a random collection of yellow food stuff but the lemon, mustard, white wine vinegar and olive oils are the ingredients to mayonnaise. I just couldn't figure how to get an egg in there or it would have been a photo recipe :)

I liked your hydrant pic too and I wondered if you painted it yourself with the splatters on the floor around it :)

Cool. I didn't realise it was a recipe... It's even cooler now!

Yer, I didn't paint it honest! I thought the paint emphasised the colour more than just something being yellow to start with.

Yes it worked, it added to the shot and it made me wonder :)
 
Have you decided on the new theme yet Gregeff? Sorry if i sound pushy but im dying to get some shots for the next comp :p

Must be hard to pick a theme! I had a few ideas, but looking back through the archives, they seem to have been covered. However, I didn't see any theme along the lines of 'Self portraits', which I think could be quite interesting. Although it may be a bad idea given the hoo-ha surrounding SteveOBHave's (or is it his girlfriend's) entry to the Yellow competition.
 
great pics, shame i was not able to compete, but have hust started a new job which has not given me much time..:(

shame because i have some good ideas which wanted to explore.

with regards to new ideas, how about:

trees
heights
leaves
lines
stress
pressure

??

We've done reflection and maybe curves. I think we've done something to do with tech too.
