On the flip side... I've only ever had a WD drive die on me, but this was about five years ago! I usually only buy Maxtors as I find they're normally good value and good performance, haven't had a single one die on me! Had a few bad clusters on one but that was mainly because I gave my computer a massive kick when it was misbehaving during some IO
