Onlinepoker66.com (iirc) has free tables, no cc required. It's ok for a practical way of learning, you'll probably not win many hands at first but it's not hard and it has a limit or no-limit betting system if you want to learn easily try limit. Hope this helps - am at uni atm so can't access the site to check for you, but I'm pretty sure that was it.

Also wikipedia has all the poker hands and simple information if you're a total beginner.
 
I managed 44th out of 8087 people in an omaha hi/lo tournament yesterday, granted it was a freeroll so no ones really palying properly but i only started playing omaha on friday and i LOVE IT! :D

on the PKR site they have FREE sit and go tournaments holding upto 50 people, If we can get some numbers together we could all join the 50 people table at an appropriate time.
