Just won two play money tournaments in a row on Pokerstars for mahoooooosive profit. Woohoo!

The best hands are where you don't have a monster, imo

Not a huge pot but still bragworthy I hope!
good call, bloke in CO really should have bet the turn IMO
worry I would have had is that his play looked like he had been flushing
Guys, what site would you recommend playing on? I'm currently playing PKR, usually in their free SNGs (1st takes 6cents, 2nd takes 4cents. Plan was to build enough through that to take it into the 50cent SNG etc but people join those, then just leave it running and because of the blind levels don't get blinded out and end up coming 2nd half the time anyway as the last 2 actual players knock one or the other out) but I want to move up a bit and start playing for a little bit of money.
Nothing wrong with PKR. It's probably the best place to start out at. High % of fish and slow game pace to give you time to think.

Do you reckon it's worth playing the really low stakes SNGs? I can't help but feel that they'll be fairly similar to play money games as there's so little at stake.
. If building up a bankroll this way is too much of a grind, then sure jump into some 1c/2c cash games or similar buy-in SNGs (I think you'd learn the most from a cash game, as playing with bigger stacks in relation to the blinds requires much more thought (SnGs can just be all-in fests)), but be prepared to lose a bit before things start falling into place.*** HOLE CARDS ***

As you say, with so little at stake you probably won't learn a whole lot besides the rules, but if you can beat them it's still a sign that you're doing something right. I can't believe I contemplated folding aces on that flop was well. Horrible, horrible flop for aces.
Ah, maybe I should have made myself clearer. I'm a pretty decent poker player, just not played online other than play money before. Used to play regular SNGs at my SU but that's finished now (Cashed a few times against guys who have bankrolls and regularly take home £250+ profit from the casino) so I want to start playing online, but I do recognise it's different to live games.
I think I prefer cash games, but being a student I don't have that much spare cash, and I'd rather pay a fiver into a SNG than risk losing a tonne in one hand on a cash table. There's also the risk of the sharks who hang around low stakes cash tables ready to pounce.
oh, sorry if I assumed you were a rookie, no offence intended
there's no reason why cash should be any more risky. just play with >20 buy-ins for your level and provided you're not terrible or a tiltmonster, you shouldn't go broke.
also you don't need to worry about sharks until you hit at least 50nl, as anyone who is playing for a living and is not a complete tool is going to be playing 50nl+. but you are right that you will find the better players playing cash, as that is where you will improve the quickest and have the biggest edge over fish, so it's a double edged sword. the advantages much outweight the disadvantages imo
, think I worked upto $1-$2 tables or maybe 0.50 - $1. Still got my logs somewhere from pokeroffice. Might have to try and get back into it .............
