OcUK Poker Thread.

Cheers Rotty i'll take a look.

There's definitely a lot to learn.

I found the SNG double or nothing games to be a fairly easy way of building the bank roll.

I will now be partaking in some form of poker, if I get in to any form of debt then I will be sending you the bill Rotty, ok? :p

you need complete information to work out true pot odds

for example if there are only 2 in a hand and one goes all in and the other has a nut flush draw then you can fairly accurately work out your odd of wiining

If there is a 3rd player with a bigegr stack and the board was also paired then things become much more vague as it may cost you more to see all the cards and you still have a chance of being beaten

online I play 6 max SNGs and live play large field MTTs

re books

for Tournaments then Harrington on Hold em

for Cash No limit hold em theory and Practice by David Sklansky

Rotty - There's a few volumes of Harrington's stuff. Are they supposed to be read in order or are they updated versions if you get me?

Having just moved to London I've been playing a lot of live poker. Drastically improved my game in the two weeks I've been here.

Played 3 live tourneys so far,

£25 Freezeout. 81 runners, 3rd
£100 Freezeout. 110 runner, 16th
£60 Freezeout. 62 runners, 1st

Also dominating live cash, its been a good poker week!

Hi all,

I have been playing poker for arounf six months now and decided I want to up my game. I have a book I am reading through (Brunson) but just using it as a guide (I think poker is too varied to have strict rules to follow).

However, I am thinking of signing up to deuces cracked for a month to see how I get on. I have withdrawn $30 from my pokerstars winnings/ bankroll to use but wanted to know what everyones thoughts were on it.

I hate people who moan about losing; playing in a knockout I'm head to head and manage to claw back from $1200 against $7800. The pussy wouldnt match any of my bets or go all in against me once, so I just kept winning the hands. Last hand I have A2, bet 2xBB, see's me, I get a 2 on the flop, I go all in and by this point he's raging because he's losing calling me an Asian and smelly! lol. Claims he played me like a ***** but still manages to lose! lol some people.

First bit of Poker ina while on Monday.

Played two SNG Double or Nothing and went out on the bubble twice. One being someone hitting a straight on the river after getting all-in early, grrrr.
