OcUK PREPARING A 290X DEAL TO BLOW ALL OTHERS AWAY!

230 is amazing for a card that trades with 980.
You mean 970. It's not near a 980 unless you cherry pick some 4k results which are irrelevant to the majority of gamers and a 980 isn't a 4k card, It may struggle it's way through some games but it's just not, Plus if your looking at 4k gaming you need to be waiting for the 390x not looking at a 290x or a 980.

Disappointed they're not reference cards, i may have bought four. My wallet breathes a sigh of relief though.

Hilarious that 4 of those would still be in the same price range as 1 TitanX or SLI 980.

Although you will need loads of PSU wattage to run the thing, oh and rely on AMD's shoddy Xfire drivers ;)

Will be keeping an eye on this deal Gibbo so i can share it socially. ;)

Si, i have a 2000W PSU, you really think I'm worried?

Xfire works just fine too, otherwise I'd not be running QuadFire in all the games i play.

:D

2000W PSU is for wimps, my 290Xs have 2400W available to them.:D:p

As Matt says Quadfire drivers work well. People often comment on 4 way setups without first hand experience.:)

While 229 is great price for 290x, I struggle to think that a 380x would be selling for near 300.

A £300 380x would be a massive inflationary jump from the 7850 (~£200) and the 280x (~£240) at launch.

The 380x is supposed to denote their 2nd tier card.

But then, who knows. Perhaps Gibbo is hinting here that he knows rebrands are happening?
