OcUK PREPARING A 290X DEAL TO BLOW ALL OTHERS AWAY!

290X CF or 970SLI will both destroy 1080p ..........but the 290X is now cheaper and has more RAM than the gimped 970, so you dont need to be a brain surgeon to work out that the 290x crossfire is better.

one 390X will be less powerful but also more money, dont forget that you'll probably be upgrading again next year anyway..

so which is best........ the 970SLI is the same as TX on 1080p, so your best buy is by far without a shadow of a doubt 290X crossfire, but wait another 2 weeks ;)

do i regret buying TX ? yes, i have no need for it, i was a bloody idiot

If I could afford one I would get one, I have no need neither, just like I'd have an x99/5960k if I could afford it.. It swings on roundabouts!

The 290x at that price is a great buy. i think with more games up and coming you'll need crossfire to fully max them.

I ran 290p/290x xfire for a while, then upgraded the 290p to an x when I saw one for a good price. I had the 290 running at 290x speeds and found that the performance increase going to 2 x 290x to only be around 5%.

Just use the 290x as the primary card and have the 290p available when extra grunt is needed.

The Matrix is a top tier OCing card, the G1 is just a regular card I think. Although 970s do OC very well anyway. You would have to look at benches for the games you play I think.

Did you buy the Titan X for 1080p then?

YES and i wont be switching to 4K until the Panny OLED is available, if ever, because OLED 1080P is so good that you dont need 4K

i wanted a single card solution to give me better response/ less artifacts/ more stability than the 970SLI.........but believe me, my pc is exactly the same as 2 months ago.

a wise person wouldn't touch a TX for 1080p, he'd get 290X Crossfire and save himself a fortune.....or the 980TI because that wont be as expensive.............but you still need grunt at 1080p so i deffo dont recommend one smaller mid range card only, because i used to have to turn my settings down with a single 970 in Metro/FC3, the rig was deffo quicker with SLI...... but the TX is overkill.......so the perfect balance is a really good 290X crossfire, i'm not so sure about 970SLI simply because of this 3.5 RAM issue............980SLI ????????? same as TX............Overkill, this is just my thoughts though

the TX is fine, it's perfect, but i do regret spending all that money

Really? I went from 3 panel 5760x1080 eyefinity to the benq BL3201PT and the difference is literally night and day.

we're not talking about a high quality small monitor here.......... we're talking about much lower quality 65'' 4K LEDs, they look pretty bad, it's not the resolution, it's the picture quality/ motion handling/ poor contrast and rubbish blacks.

you can only get 4K TV in LED..........so 4K is therefore not worth having because the image looks so bad, it's only worth it in OLED, but i dont like LG so i have to wait much longer until Panasonic catch up and overtake them.

it was a big mistake to dump the Plasma, but for some reason it became unpopular and unfashionable, which is most odd because it's way better than LED, LED only looks really good on displays less than 40''

Use one of these for a while and you will change your mind about 2160p
