OCUK Recommended PC game list

I, in all honesty, don't think aoe is that great these days, I've played it to the death for years, both aoe 1 and aoe 2 + expansions, but somehow now I'ts boring and much prefer to fire up M2:TW or Supcom instead.
Do people these days still play aoe2 a lot ?

not now, but if you only have a more basic PC then they are still great games.

"Hacker" sim: Uplink, also really enjoyed Making History 2.0 from Steam. Kind of like a good Risk game with different economic ratings depending on the patch you use.

Need for Speed games from Underground to Most Wanted are very good, especially with the Most Wanted cop chases. I'd expect the next NfS game to copy whatever plot they have for the next Fast and the Furious movie expected with Vin Diesal since they seem to like copying the movies. I haven't played the NfS games before Underground though they seem to be very popular.

I also really enjoyed Hitman: Blood Money and it got me into the Hitman series of games as I didn't rate them before playing it. I thought it was all just hype until playing the H:BM casino level. :D

No, Caesar ;)

lol, yer I cant spell. I dont need that post to tell me that. Anyway, they are the same series, all made by Impressions Games.

"Impressions specialized in historical strategy games, and is most well-known for its City Building Series, which include Caesar, Pharaoh, and Master of Olympus - Zeus."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impressions_Games

As I remember all of them are pritty much the same just set in different periods.

For anyone intrested in simlar games seirra bought impressions Games, at which point most of them left and formed Tilted Mill Entertainment who have made

Children of the Nile, a city-building game set in ancient Egypt and published through Myelin Media
Caesar IV, a city-building game set in ancient Rome and published through Sierra Entertainment
SimCity Societies, a city-building game that is part of the Sim franchise.

Children of the Nile looks to be pharoahs 2

I do think company of heroes is in all probability the best game ever made now.It just has that something special I cant quite put my finger on.

i'm quite surprised that Combat Mission has not made the list.its a turn based strategy game set in WW2,comes in three versions,Beyond Overlord, which is set in Normandy,Barbarossa to Berlin which covers the Russian Front and Afrika Corps with battles set in North Africa and Italy.i know the games getting old now and the world wide community is relatively small but the gameplay is superb and i certainly cannot stop playing it.CM is also heavily modded with versions of almost every vehicle used in WW2.you can also easily create your own battles in scenario editor and there are thousands available for free download.
seems that few know this game but those that do are hooked for life.

Updated.

Remember, this list is created by recommendations from the users of this forum, if you want a game listed, post the game and its genre.
