OcUK Rolling Road Day 20 @ Ti Motorsport (Stoke) - Saturday 29th October 2016

Wheel spin wasn't an issue during the ramp runs, but it was during the setup before they began the runs (Where I commented on hard they were loading the cars up)

What does loading them up hard mean? Appreciate it may be a stupid question but I have heard that mentioned a few times and I don't really understand.

Too much resistance on the rollers basically.

As Scoobydoo said in essence

The ramp rate is operator selected, this is the rate at which the dyno actually allows the cars RPM to increase using the dyno brakes.

During setup they seemed the be locking the wheel speed as well, this means no matter how much throttle you apply the dyno will prevent the car from actually accelerating at all

Good spot. I'll correct. Tbh I don't mind. It is time consuming to do (and I don't have the most spare time..!) but makes the videos much more interesting when they're trimmed and put together for the more interesting bits. Watching 15min of a car warming up etc. on the dyno would be boring no? :p

Wish I had more talent to make more interesting videos but I'm not. So I'm only using YouTube's video editor which means the 4K videos are downscaled to 1080.

If anyone wants the original 4K videos I'll make them available too.

Well if you load up the rollers first you load the engine and transmission more so they want to generate more power and before you know if they either break traction on the rollers and then spin up the tyres or begin to generate too much heat in the engine bay which results in potentially showing less power than it should.

Seeing what Gibbo posted after a later visit they've "learnt their lesson" and now the Dyno is allowed to load up much more quickly which is better for everyone.

Does it just make you what to supercharge yours even more?

I need to borrow the keys for a while to decide that.

Mine is getting pretty rapid now NA, I think with another 50-60BHP and around 50kg out of it I might be more than happy as I can lay down all 500 horses in 1st gear.

But we shall see once I have had the keys might be no turning back after unleashing nearly 800 horses on a 3rd and 4th gear pull. :D

This is what makes the super charger tempting:

Absolute insane gear acceleration, the guy is not even trying and the thing just accelerates like nothing, 130-155mph takes a 2-3s haha. :D

Really impressive as well because unlike a turbo they still rev so hard to 8000rpm and you still get the full V8 roar with added whine, OK I need to stop talking about this now, temptations, haha! :D

All I will say is the yellow one had a run with an R8 V10, lets just say after they had a few plays the Audi driver probably took his car back to Audi, he made it look like it was moving backwards haha and an R8 V10 is a bloody quick car.
