OCUK RTX4060TI review thread

TBF, it is inevitable 8k becoming mainstream but you're talking about years for that..... 4k alone is hardly exactly mainstream.

Yup sadly 1920x1080 still the dominant res. In terms of technology, it really is dated though.

84% of the gaming community have GPUs with less than 8gb of vram too so lots are still stuck in 1080P time in more than 1 way!
held hostage on 1080p more like, cant upgrade cause gpu so expensive and if you do upgrade current cards are such dog **** performance that you end up getting the console 30 fps experience

How much does anyone want to be the reason that the 1080p survey results are so damn high is because the vast majority of people can't or won't spend the ridiculous amount of £££ that is necessary to game properly at 1440p?

We here are the 1% essentially. Look at the survey results, the weight of 1080p also aligns with the weight of GPUs in use that are focused at 1080p as well, also CPUs that are well suited so overall an average system on Steam is more aligned to 1080p because that's what gamers are mostly willing to budget for.

If hardware was cheaper, then we'd see 1080p take a back seat. Most people are forced into sticking to 1080p I have no doubt by vendors who just keep on increasing prices.

On the flipside people keep on pre ordering rubbish games at high prices so maybe this argument goes out the windows of common sense
It probably is the cost, but no matter how you look at it for whatever reason 1080p still reigns as the popular choice and 4k is far away from being mainstream despite itself being far from new tech

What did jayztwocents say about the 4060ti that made him apologise and delete his video? No doubt he was praising it for being a low price or something.

They have sold enough 4090 and 4080s they probably don't need to make this card sell lol.

I didn't see it, but it had the tag "Mid-range king", so you can probably guess the content from that.

There were cherrypicked results too, not comparing benches to 3060ti etc.

This is probably more likely the reason. I settled on 144hz 2560x1440 because the jump to 4k was just so much more expensive plus it would always tie me to a high end and very expensive card. As it is I tied myself to bloody Nvidia as my monitor has a Gsync module.

I thought they all worked with Freesync now?

They do but it is a hit and miss experience with freesync, still lots of reports on flickering and black screening, depends largely on the screen he has. That and if pasty is on a LCD based screen, he will lose out on some big advantages which the gsync module provides i.e. variable pixel overdrive

Must be an Nvidia conflict then. My ASUS Freesync monitor works fine with both Nvidia and AMD cards.

4090's i can understand but 4080's i doubt they sold that many looking at how the FE card sat in stock for the entire duration from launch till now.

As I saw it, prepared to big it up, left it to his cameraman to do the video who seemed a touch inexperienced, realised he was going to go against the grain, threw the cameraman under the bus and issued an apology. And there was quite a bit of emphasis comparing it to the 1060 or 2060, which correlate with nVidia's talking points.

If the 16GB version is going to be $499, they should at least pair it with GDDR6X to make it viable for 1440p to make up a bit for the tiny memory bus. Maybe even include a fully unlocked AD106.

It is amazing how people can be so purposefully and obviously dishonest. Really shows how much they take their audience for fools.
Do we think it was on purpose? Or just majorly missed the mark with it?

I don't understand what benefit they would get from being deliberately dishonest, it's basically a free win to say that the card is a bit crap. Unless Nvidia have gone down the route of 'if you don't give us a positive review, no more samples'...

Comparing it only/mainly to the 2060 IS being deliberately dishonest. There is no real reason to compare it to a card that is ostensibly three generations behind and released over 4 years ago.

Having the 2060 on the charts is obviously good, but using it as the main comparison is bogus.
