OCUK RWYB Drag Meet 3 - Saturday September 16th - Santa Pod Raceway

That RX-7, 12.9 is fast but looking at it, I thought it was going to be an absolute monster.

More a disappointment if you ask me, my M3 is faster considering I did a 13.0@110 on my second run on a car I've never dragged race before, 3rd run I should have being into the twelves. The way that RX7 was looking I was thinking 10s car unless of course he was letting off mid way.....

Did you manage to break into the 12s?

Nice, what sort of gains do you get?

Nope, "only" a 13.03. I don't normally start putting in good times until my third or fourth run of the day. So managing these on my first two was good going (I spent a little while finding 4th on the first run) I also know exactly why that 13 flat wasn't a high 12

I would be right upset if i lost to a Fiesta. Possibly leaving my car there and getting a taxi home.

It sets off like it is 4wd.

Surely losing to an MX5 would be even worse

615-630 supposedly, need to book some dyno time in with iain

But you ran 11.4@124 last time? Or am I just imagining that?

Or maybe conditions today were not so favourable as everyone who had ran previously was going slower than our last outing it seems but hard to judge with only two runs.

No idea on that one but you can make them pretty damn rapid for not a lot of money:

310-350HP reliable, come across them on track day in the Mustang and trust me when a Fiesta pulls from a 2nd gear corner quicker than you can with 500HP you start checking for engine lights, they are very rapid to three figures rolling. Once I got into 4th on track I was breezing past them, but out of slow corners they accelerated quick, thankfully on track the Mustang carried more speed through corner as more grip so once pass you leave them, but its quite shocking at first.

11.7 is my best, which I matched yesterday in poor conditions. So arguably in better conditions it will be better, but I would like to get an accurate dyno session to find out what it is putting out.

The ST had some slicks on the front.

So would have naturally got off the line quicker.

Impressive time though. Fastest I have seen is a 13.5 at North weald with R888s on the front.

Track conditions were a lot less favourable yesterday.

Cooler track temperatures, lower relative air density and much less of a tail wind

Lets hope for a repeat of those next March and I will be wanting a 12.7ish from the M3 at around 112mph then. Time for more weight reduction. :D

I've been asking if its safe to just run with gear box in S6 or even use the LC. :D

I'll arrange one for June/July next year too. Should give us more chance of getting some decent weather
