You're right it sounds like Flat shift either isn't engaging or it isn't dropping the RPM low enough. You almost can't tell I've shifted just by sound in the MX5
I hope I can get below 15s. I'd be happy with that. Tempted to get the car mapped for more torque this coming week but unsure if the clutch will hold up, last time I was shifting at 4krpm so that was a mistake, too much of a girl to take to redline. Plus boost leaks, this time should be a tad better should I get my launches to not bog.

Forget about being a girl and redline, you change gear when you feel it needs the next gear.
I change when the car is tailing off and it puts it in the best position for the next gear. Exception being 4th to 5th as that actually slows me down, so I just hold onto 4th.. for a very long time!

I use an Olympus ME-51S microphone and a very fluffy windshield
The no lift shift implementation on my map is about keeping boost, When I engage it the engine revs higher then cuts ignition depending on the position of the clutch pedal. Its pretty much like like a rolling launch control as I dont have to build up boost again.
Mine tails off just after 4.8k, but I'm never keen to go into the redline area in a diesel. I'll experiment and see what times I get trying diff things lol.

Yeah, most likely meet up with you then go to my mates house as he is just off the M1 then head down. Im in S41.
Cool, it's only an extra 20 miles to go North and then down the M1 than it is to go straight down the M6 so I'll do that.

If you will be having trap speeds of above 110 mph or more yes. You will require a helmet.
Anything under you don't need to have a helmet.
Guessing from my own experience. Unsure of your entire spec, I would say your trap speeds will be anything from 95 mph up to 108 mph.
That's for a subaru up to 330bhp.
1/4 mile racing is very addictive, when you leave you will be looking at what makes you faster down the strip lol
My advice if funds allow, buy a helmet now

Experience says no.
But as above, good idea to get one. I was running with mine on a I didn't think I'd go over 110 in this new car, but then I did! So better to be safe

@agw_01 the Sparco Club X1 at Demon Tweeks is a reasonable price if you do want to grab a helmet, its what me and Kindai both bought
on another note I have my shift buzzer installed, but it's behaving a bit special. The first activation is fine, but after that it all goes a bit wrong (Temporarily set to 1500RPM so I don't have to redline it sat on the drive)
EDIT: I'm certainly not getting 44mpg, its out at the moment because the controller thinks its reading MPH and the ECU is outputting KMH

Hmm, my number plate is a little on the small side. The rozzers are gonna do me.
Does that mean when we're on the back roads everyones gonna drive in a sensible manor and not do 1gazillion mph lmao

It's never been unsensible. I was exaggerating a lot, but it's just something to consider if the rozzers do have a prescience now as mentioned.
