Got my NH-D14 today! It sure is massive!

they look huge and even the price tag is big....£70.00
i think ill stick with my h50 with 2 silent eagle's on it.
That'd be £82.97 if i bought that setup right now, although it's sorely tempting, im fed up of waiting for this my stock cooler needs a retirement![]()
TBH - I think Noctua NH-D14 will make no difference to i7 cores temperature even if it was big one! Probably about 1 or 2 degrees off than the Noctua NH-U12P and cost more expensive!
I would stick to my H50 for now as temperatures are fine at around 68C for 4Ghz. I don't need another air cooler until the new i9 cores come out next year. Keep my budget tight this christmas.
Quick Q: The little installation booklet gives a warning something like: "Ensure you remove the protective cover off the heatsink before installing." Is there really something to remove? If there is on mine, it must be an invisible plastic layer! I gave the base a scratch with my nail, but I'm 99% certain there's nothing there. Just want to make sure I'm not about to make a big mistake!![]()
bulldog where ya been dude long time no cooling![]()
