OCUK shipping Noctua NH D14 when?

Hopefully these will come in stock round about payday. i'll call it my christmas present to myself :)

Still waiting for these :(
They came in stock a day late at a certain etailer (im guessing thats where you preordered) but i'd rather order from somewhere else and they've sold out now. I thought ocuk would be stocking them fair early on tbh.

they look huge and even the price tag is big....£70.00

But if like me, you dont have any real decent fans on your current cpu cooler, this comes with an NF-P14 and NF-P12, which are £37.23 together, so this cooler is only £32.76 and its a beast. A megahalems without any fans is £49.99, megashadow £66.99, H50 £62.99 (with 1 stock fan i suppose but i'd rather switch to two apaches or noctuas or something similar). So if you ask me, the price is great.
Of course if you already have 2 apaches and are just looking to upgrade cpu cooler, then maybe a megahalems would be cheaper for you, although you could still sell the fans that come with the d14 in the MM and recoup some money.

That'd be £82.97 if i bought that setup right now, although it's sorely tempting, im fed up of waiting for this my stock cooler needs a retirement :o

the h50 is a awsome bit of kit for the money,it took me 2 week's to decide and im glad i did.

TBH - I think Noctua NH-D14 will make no difference to i7 cores temperature even if it was big one! Probably about 1 or 2 degrees off than the Noctua NH-U12P and cost more expensive!

I would stick to my H50 for now as temperatures are fine at around 68C for 4Ghz. I don't need another air cooler until the new i9 cores come out next year. Keep my budget tight this christmas.

Not sure about 1-2 degrees...

Quick Q: The little installation booklet gives a warning something like: "Ensure you remove the protective cover off the heatsink before installing." Is there really something to remove? If there is on mine, it must be an invisible plastic layer! I gave the base a scratch with my nail, but I'm 99% certain there's nothing there. Just want to make sure I'm not about to make a big mistake! ;)

There's normally a piece of plastic covering the base and a sticker with some writing on it. Hard to miss really so yours is probably already off.

My NHD14 arrived a few days ago;) I havent installed it yet, but there is a large transparent plastic protector that goes over the base. You cant miss it, its not a film or sticker. Maybe yours in the bottom of the box.

BTW this heatsink is HUGE! but isnt much heavier than the NH12!

I've checked everywhere, but no protector. Oh well, it's not damaged, so I suppose it doesn't matter!

Building my new PC tomorrow morning. I've just unpacked all the components. :D

bulldog where ya been dude long time no cooling :p

I was busy doing all housework. My current OC pc is fine with 4Ghz as I had no problem at all as there is no need to fiddle with any more cooling unless I due to upgrade a new Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 Intel X58 motherboard and a new Intel i9 cores with probably a new Noctua NH-D14 next year.

Well i ordered from a competitior in the end (the one that now charges for delivery unless order is over £75 ex. VAT ) as i see no sign of ocuk stocking them anytime soon. Should be here tomorrow although I haven't had a dispatch email yet. Il try post a few overclocking results tomorrow night.
