** OcUK Tech Labs Noise Dampening O-Rings for Cherry MX Keyboards - NEW VERSIONS**

Hmm can someone answer a few questions? One will this reduce the reaction times of the Keyboards for gaming and would the key press register sooner due to the O ring hitting sooner and just giving the key less time to travel?

I do not believe the O-rings activate the keys any sooner as the activation of the switch occurs inside the MX switch, whereas the O-rings go on the outside of the stem.

They rings do however cause the key to bottom out slightly quicker, but they reduce the sound made when bottoming out.

Yep, the activation point remains the same, part way through the travel (if you've gone for a clicky switch colour then it'll be when it clicks I assume)
It reduces travel distance a bit and makes it quieter tho.

Been dispatched! Ta very much. The press is reduced as well as the sound.

Im using it in my blackwidow 2012 i think. Hopefully it will help, mine has blues on it. Really bloody loud, nice amount of feedback though. Should be the same for a 2013.

Mine have been dispatched and delivery in 3-5 days due to being posted by Royal Mail 2nd class, don't blame OcUK because 1st class isn't much faster ;)

Really needed something to reduce the loud noise of Cherry Red switches for extended typing/gaming and other packs only offered 50 pieces. From feedback here they are a great choice - thanks rjkoneill for providing these :)

im on blues and they were bloody loud. They still have a very noticeable click, but just not as loud. I would say about half the noise. I must say you do feel less of a reaction when pressing the key, but nothing too extreme.

Got back to see that my O-Rings were delivered today :)

Sadly, these rings helped me to discover how filthy my keyboard is...

All clean now though! :D

For cleaning keyboards I use water and with a bowl mix in some bathroom Cif and moisten some kitchen towel pieces to lift any dust leaves it smelling nice. My keyboard is the K95 which I bought a few months back. You have to keep it clean, there is nothing to hide below the keys.

Are they just differant colours? Nothing is actually differant about the affect?

EDIT: Just saw they are differant strengths. Got a comparision?

Or any chance of a kit of 1 of each so we can see what we like best?

So these o-rings go underneath a key which then gets locked into position on a keyboard.

What's the value of having coloured versions

They provide a cushion under the key press and there is a noticeable difference. I very much like them on my Ducky Shine III with cherry reds stops the key bottoming out and makes a much softer press.

As to the colours the blue are stronger providing a different amount of cushion, the clear are the same as the black but if you had see through keys you probably wouldn't want black ones.

Ordered some white keys for my zero and then saw this thread and realised unless I want to remove and reapply 105 o-rings between my keys I should get some more!

Anyone experienced the blue rings yet? Why no pre-order 'discount' for them? ;)
