We got him from the cats protection league, they'd rescued him as he was abandoned at the side of the road at 5 weeks old

He's been with us for 11 years now and is quite a character - and yes ~J~ he is spoiled rotten :p

Does he speak?

Yep he is just over 2 years old and can say hello, goodbye, goodnight, jake (sons name), good boy, says want some fuss - when he wants you to play, does the nokia message tone to a tee, and a fair bit more.

Does get annoying though sometimes.

the one next door keep copying our phone ringing, and when in garden we keep get up to check, because it sounds exact "GIT"

I would love an African Grey. When i worked at the RSPCA the live-in carer had one and she used to wheel him outside my office during the day. He could bark, meow, do phone rings, have phone conversations, everything. I'd be on the phone and going 'yes thats fine' 'ok' etc and he'd be outside my office going 'yes' 'ok' mimicking me.

When he wasn't getting attention he'd go 'tickle tickle' in a really sad voice :)
