RULES

Rules must be followed. Failure to follow one or more rules will result in disqualification from the current round.

  1. One image per entrant (may be a montage).
  2. If a montage is entered, all aspects in the image will be judged on their relevance to each other as well as the theme.

  5. Images may have an optional border.

  7. Images must be your own work unless posting on behalf of someone else. If this is the case it should be stated in your post.

  11. The winner of a round can not enter the following round.
  12. The theme chosen should not be one used previously in this season
  13. The theme can stipulate a stock image and/or slogan to be used, but does not have to
  14. Entrants may or may not be notified of their disqualification before the deadline.

Ok, I've started this one off and tidied up the rules because of the decision to use a poll instead of judges. I've stuck with letting the previous winner choose the theme as well as leaving in the rule reguarding not letting the previous winner enter the next round. Personally I would like to see that changed, I don't know how any body else feels about it.

The finishing date has also been extended to a week on Sunday, this is mainly because of the slowness to get this weeks one up and running. If we get more entries because of the extended entry period, then it may be a good idea to keep it to two weeks.

Any other suggestions, ideas or critique are also welcome.

Edit: And the title should be round three, if a don would like to change it that would be nice. :)

Yeah it does say Round Two. But if you look in post two, you will notice a ninja edit that points this out. So... you're really very slow. ;)

There is not one because no one has said they want to make an entry.

I or anybody else can soon make one if that's what you want.

people aren't going to make one if there's nowhere to put it?
I don't see why not. The people who have seen the this thread will know the comp is on. IMO it shouldn't all be down to one person, I just kicked this one off because the people who started it before appear to have lost interest.

I'm going to make one tonight in a spare half an hour, just wondered if this comp was still on :)
And you can't enter. I mentioned this in post two, but no one seemed to pay any attention.

Anyway, I've put the entries thread up now.

Well we can change the rules, which is what I was leaning towards in my post. I don't think it will make much differnce though because it seems the whole idea has fallen on its arse.

Like Nate, I like the concept behind yours mrdbristol.

As for mine; due to time constraints and the will to try and keep the comp going, I have entered another simple design. I've kind of borrowed the idea from something I've seen and altrered it slightly. I know it looks like it should really belong in a Photography comp, but it does have a number of effects applied to it.

Hopefully some more people will will enter now there are a couple done.

I've sent Berserker an email to see if he will set up a poll for us. I'm not sure if he's at the OMGWTFBBQ, so if he is it might not happen until later today or tommorow.

With all respect to SamHandwich; I personally think the competition is about the best made work which suitably represents the theme rather than the one that makes you laugh the most.

You're implying that you havn't made a real vote; if that's the case then you've screwed the poll up.

I don't actually see why people keep laughing at my entry. It took me a good few hours, and while it may not be quite up to the standard of "sp00n"'s entry, I think it's a good try for a Photoshop n00b. I also feel it portrays the themes of opposites quite nicely.

I've been trying not to take offence, but I really think it's at least as good as at least half of the entries so it deserves to be taken seriously.
I apologise if you're offended by anything I've written in my post.

I wasn't implying, purposefully, that your entry doesn't represent the theme well or that it shouldn't be taken seriosly. I was just pointing out to joeyjojo that voting for the one he or anyone thinks is the funniest is not what the competition is about.

Clearly nobody can be arsed with this, rendering the whole thing pointless.
They can be arsed, but people wanted it to be decided by poll and that's what has happened. Obviously this was a bad idea, which some people did point out when it was discussed. Now that we've tried the poll I think we will all agree not to use it again.

I also think to compare this competition with the photo one is a bit unfair. The photo comp has been established for a while and this one is just starting. Sure it's not perfect yet, but it will get better. Perhaps if people made proper entries, instead of trying to be clever and take the ****, it would do better.

As for this round I think we should stick with the poll result as I don't think it is wildly inacurate, unless people have any objections with that? I also think we should stick with one or two judges, one of which being the previous rounds winner and one fixed one. I don't know who would want to be the fixed judge, but someone who has the time and dedication to maintain the comp would be a good idea.

TBF, I just want some fixed rules in place that are enforced and stuck to, instead of discussing what we can fanny about at in the next round.
