I recently built a new pc with my 3090 FE & all was working well, I upgrade to a 4090 FE over the weekend & now when I (with the Rift hmd hdmi connected) open the Oculus software after about a second my monitor goes to a black screen flickers then goes into standby, then back on again flickers then back to standby over & over. I can start up the Oculus without the hmd connected & look at the setup screen, plug the hmd hdmi in & see the the light go green (meaning its good) then lose connection to the monitor again.
I do have a picture in the hmd but I obviously need to see the monitor to do setup etc.
I have tried complete uninstall/reinstall the Oculus software, same with the graphics drivers with the clean install option.
Tried with the latest drivers (531.29) & also an older driver (528.49)
I have tried having the monitor (DP) & tv (hdmi) connected at the same time to rule that out & that works fine.
The closest thing I found was someone saying their monitor would flash with a 4090 & it was suggested the 4090 might not be supported by the Rift?
I couldn't find anything else after Googling & I've ran out of things to try.
Could it be simply that the Oculus software/Rift doesn't support the 4090 yet, is it really that old now & is being left behind? Anyone else have any experience with this issue?
I could try putting my 3090 back in to test but I'm 99.9% sure it will be fine cos it was working fine before the swap.
Any help would be much appreciated! :/
System specs are: MSI MAG Z790 Tomahawk DDR5 mobo, i7 13700k, 32gb mhz 6000 DDR5 ram, rtx 4090 FE, Windows 11.
