~~~~~OCZ MEMORY SALE - HUGE DISCOUNTS & OcUK EXCLUSIVE!!~~~~~
This anything to do with OCZ pulling oun of the DRAM business? Epic prices on the 4GB kits, may have to buy one just in case I upgrade to SB this year ;)
A little web search for the phrase "OCZ pulling out or DRAM" on the most popular search engine will reap all you need to know on the first article that props up.
EDIT: "Having balanced this DRAM market weakness against the capital needs of the Company's growing SSD products, the board has determined that it is in the best interests of the stockholders to accelerate plans to discontinue its remaining DRAM module products by the end of its current fiscal year of February 28, 2011," the statement added
hmmm, tempting, but I don't think my motherboard could take them :( got a Foxconn G33M if anyone knows either way or not.
Had a quick look, but couldn't find anything to say for certain
Gibbo,
Thick question I'm sure, but I'd like to think I'm not the only one wondering... What's the story with the full lifetime warranty given that OCZ are quitting the memory business?
:D :D
OCZ have indeed pulled out of RAM business for now to focus on just SSD and power supplies.
Warranty wise, well I have it in writing OCZ will honor the lifetime warranties on all their memory as will OcUK. :)
Awwwww... and here was me thinking i could get 8GB of DDR2 for less than £60... until i saw that it's all DDR3 except the first offer.
which is actually a good thing considering i'm saving up for an expensive UV light.
Can't believe how quick DDR3 has dropped in price.
Its not dropping its going up. :(
This is just OcUK going against the trend, using its buying power to source such a great deal that when others are increasing DDR3 prices, were dropping it. :D
I'm looking at the 2x1GB OCZ 800MHz.
Currently got 2x1GB Geil 800Mhz (the orange ultra low latency stuff). Will there be any issues with using these together?
Really? I've not watched that close over the last few weeks but compared to a few months ago it seems a lot cheaper.
Wait a couple of weeks Deuse, they've been told they should try and get rid of their stock before the 28th Feb. So that probably includes the OCZ DDR2 PC2-8500C5 Dual Channel.
They won't just drop it instantly because it's probably their usual best seller. So wait until last minute to maximise profits then drop it with a couple of days to go ;)
