Received my RMA replacement today,OCZ Solid 3 (Old drive that died was a Vertex 2 60GB)

Anyway,The performance scores on this drive seem very low considering its Sata 6gb/s,My old drive was getting better scores than this?

These are suppose to be the performance numbers on this drive.

  • Max Read: up to 500MB/s
  • Max Write: up to 450MB/s
  • Random Write 4KB: 20,000 IOPS

Its plugged into the Sata 6gb/s port,Has the latest firmware confirmed by OCZ Toolbox.

Any ideas whats up?

Sandforce-based drives score way under quoted performance figures on certain tests that use incompressible data; it relies heavily on its compression algorithms for performance. Does it feel any slower in general use?

Weeeelllll.

Plugged into SATA3 port, but with SATA3, or SATA2 cable ?

BTW, CrystalDIskMark does have 0xFill test type for SandForce-based controllers, it shows better values then (for compressed data).

Different SATA cables make no diff, you'll get same speed and use atto benchmark for sandforce drives ;)
