OCZ SSD - Solid or Vertex?

Was wondering of any knew if ocz have solved the random read/write errors with there new apex or vertex drives and the g-skill drives?

As I know a few months back intels where the only ones which didn't suffer from this problem. Iss that still the case, I'm hoping not.

been out of the loop for a while regarding upgrades and the 'latest & greatest' hardware offerings etc
I currently have a single 74gb Raptor (old one) as my boot drive on an Asus PW5 deluxe MB with 2gb of ram

the whole thing is pretty bogged down these days so could do with a 'format C' to speed things up

however I think 2 of these Vertex 30gb raid 0 as my boot drive should speed things up quite nicely on a new install of Vista 64bit

my question is - will my current MB be able to use the onboard raid chip (IR9) If I remember correctly - to good effect, obviously saving the extra expense of an add on raid card

and I imagine the all round 'snappyness' should be vastly improved
answers on a postcard please
cheers Chris

If you check OCZ forum you will see that many users tried Raid 0 wth Solid and core v2 ssds on ICH9/10R and they all gained huge performance power. I say even a single Verte4x would be few times faster than your old Raptor...
