Took my drive out of an old machine a year or so back when getting a new puter. when i hooked it up in the new one i originally got some message about needing to use the proper boot sector, but i eventually got into the drive as a slave/secondary and all seemed ok. the other night i was looking for some info and i connected it via a caddy, and am getting nothing. can't see any lights indicating the usual panick lock thing, and the caddy worked ok w/ another non-ssd drive. the SSD has been stored sensibly, hasn't had any trauma, does anyone have any thoughts as to what might be happening or what i can try?

TIA

Try taking it back out of the caddy and connecting to your m/b SATA ports as a secondary drive, if it still isn't recognisable as a drive then I would think it's borked.

I've never had an issue with any of my OCZ drives but I do know they had a lot of issues (mostly they just died, no warning or anything) with reliability and the brand ceased to exist for a while (IBM bought them I think and have relaunched them).

cheers Maundie, will have a go.
i think the early OCZ [ie, pre 2012] were a bit cac, but i've not had a pick of bother w/ mine. i read a lot of stuff about "panic locking" etc, and some weirdness about Hibernate mode knacking things, but i never experienced anything myself.
