Hello,

I am looking at the new deal OcUK have on for the vertex 2e 60GB. I want to take my first steps into the world of SSDs. Would it be best to get two of these drives and put them in RAID 0? I understand I will lose TRIM support how much of an effect will this have on the life span of the drive?

Alternatively, would it be better to buy the 120GB model, as it is the same price but will save me from buying an extra SATA cable and the hassle of configuring RAID.

I know that a RAID setup will boost read/write speeds- but will I notice the difference in real world performance?

Cheers. :)

if you have z77 board then trim will be supported in raid0,otherwise i dont see the point, you wont notice the difference from raid to a single drive

its upto you really, personally id go for a single drive as its less hassle, you wont have trim if you go raid0

U will notice slower booting in raid 0 as it has to start the raid array on first boot.

Hence y I took mine out of raid 0
