When I open Word 2003, for some reason when maximised, the top of the window isn't at the top of the screen, meaning the bottom is cut off. Pretty annoying. Generally I use OpenOffice, so it's not the end of the world, but it's been doing it for a while now - I was kind of hoping it would sort itself out. This only happens with Word - none of the other Office apps do it. Anyone have any ideas what's going on here?

// EDIT // This in XP, if that wasn't clear.

Seen this issue with other apps in the past. Un-install and re-install. More than likely something went wrong when your GFX card driver was updated or the settings ammended.

Could try: START > RUN > Winword /a

Prolly wont work any more but it used to solve most odd MS Word issues.

That will just run it in safe mode and not necessarily fix it after.

Do you use Word as your default mail editor by any chance?
I do. Closing and restarting outlook stops it happening - it must be a change made when I write an e-mail or something. I never really thought about closing outlook to see if it was that - this PC, with outlook running, has been on for about 20 days, which would explain the problem.

Anyone know of any cures? Although I now know what it is, it isn't fixed :(

Thanks, Voo :).

Change the option in Outlook to not use Word as your default mail editor and that will fix it permanently, you shouldn't lose any functionality in your emails if you use Rich Text or HTML to compose emails.
